Congratulations to all of those who liked Public Enemy with Johnny Depp, now they have more hard-boiled action thriller, Gangster Squad, unfortunately without Johnny. However the absence of Depp is easily compensated by a magnificent assembly of the cast, flawlessly selected by Ruben Fleischer who previously directed Zombieland and working on Zombieland 2 at the day of The Gangster Squad release. Returning to the abovementioned cast, the set of starring actors is really staggering: Ryan Gosling is portraying the main protagonist Sgt. Jerry Wooters who is serving in small (but very secret) LAPD squad chasing the major villain, Mickey Cohen, a mob ringleader. Cohen rules everything to the west from Chicago: prostitution, drug dealing, contract murders and bribes to politicians and officials. He controls everything and everyone. Sean Penn has professionally played the role of this uber-gangtser. Not worse managed with their roles gorgeous Emma Stone (as Grace Faraday) and Josh Brolin (as John O'Mara). The rest array of celebs involved in the film includes: Giovanni Ribisi (Ted, Contraband), Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z), Michael PeГ±a (Chavez, End of Watch), Nick Nolte (Luck, Warrior), Anthony Mackie (Vipaka, Real Steel) and Robert Patrick (Mafia, Safe House).

The "shady" action of Lawless is unfolding in times of Great Depression which covered America in in the 1930s. The Prohibition Law and followed mass bootlegging and rum-running led to organized crime wide spreading across the USA. This "dark times" of twenty century were laid down in the movie storyline by the writers Nick Cave (screenplay), Matt Bondurant (novel) and mastermind Megan Ellison (daughter of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison's) who shepherded this project.  For those who like watching movies about the gangs rending the "society of law abiding citizens" this film would be a great choice, mostly because of perfectly selected cast. You should agree, not every day you see Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Shia LaBeouf all playing the gangsters and Guy Pearce as Special Agent. Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Dane DeHaan, Jason Clarke and Noah Taylor are continuing the star cast of the movie. But the great choice of actors is not crucial strength of Lawless, the thrilling dramatic scenes and scale of the "just unfolding" war between gangs and authorities will keep you engaged all the 135 minutes.

High level of realism and plausible scenes of true life of the street gangs and the cops being in state of permanent war with each other are the bold line that is piercing the dramatic plot of End of Watch. The story about friendship between two police officers Taylor and Zavala. Officer Taylor is portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal, whose identity has not necessarily to introduce. Everybody is familiar with him performing the leading roles in Source Code, Love and Other Drugs and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Officer Zavala is played by Michael Peña, who may be less know to the mass audience, but you could distinctly remember him playing the second plan roles in such movies as The Lincoln Lawyer (Jesus Martinez), Tower Heist (Enrique Dev'Reaux) and 30:Minutes or Less (Chango). Although it's pertinent to say here that Michael was participating in some serious projects at the moment when End of Watch are coming the big screens: Tom Gianas's and Ross Shuman's animated comedy Hell & Back, David Soren's Turbo (animated, too) and biographical Chavez by Diego Luna. oing back to the movie storyline: both the plot and filming present the outlandish combination of frightening realism (all the footage was made by the handheld HD cameras and the street surveillance cameras) with courage of two brave cops patrolling the most dangerous places of the city.

Whenever you can gather Oscar winner Oliver Stone (director & co-writer) along with John Travolta, Uma Therman, Salma Hayek, and Benicio del Toro plus additional high quality talent together and put them all to work in an action film it just can't get any better than that!avages is definitely a crime thriller with plenty of action and intrigue. Throw in a Hippie named Ophelia, or "O" for short played by Blake Lively (Green Lantern, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) and her marijuana growing Laguna Beach boyfriends Chon, a former Navy SEAL played by Taylor Kitsch (John Carter, The Bang Bang Club) and Ben, a Berkeley grad (Aaron Johnson from Albert Nobbs, Shanghai Nights). When "O" is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel you can see how things could get complicated! John Travolta is a DEA agent hot on the trail of the cartel members when he too gets caught up in the intrigue. Uma Thurman is the mother of Ophelia or "O", desperate to find her daughter. Ransom requires the grass growers to give up all profits they've made the past five year but revenge is a sweeter deal.

Jill Parish believes the person who kidnapped her sister two years ago is back again. Amanda Seyfried (Red Riding Hood, Mamma Mia!) is Jill who upon returning from her job on the night shift, discovers the bed her sister was sleeping in is now empty. She fears the same person or persons who kidnapped her two years back has returned. Even the police don't believe her story and think she has mental problems. So it is up to Jill to fight off the kidnappers and find her sister, all the while she must fight with her nightmares of what happened in the past.acing horrific events from the past is brave yet foolish when there is no help to be found! Jill is determined to save her sister and also clear her mind of the past fears she's lived with these past two years. Also starring Jennifer Carpenter (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Quarantine), Daniel Sunjata (Grey's Anatomy, Rescue Me), Wes Bentley (Dolan's Cadillac, Ghost Rider), and Michael Paré (The Lincoln Lawyer, Eddie & the Cruisers).

A murder ring, consisting of four Southern Australian men, were convicted of murdering at least twelve people between 1991 and 1999. They used knives, rope, as well as a double barreled shotgun to kill then sawed some bodies up, stuffed them into barrels and added acid to dissolve the evidence. It's difficult to imagine a more heinous group of humans who tortured and then killed others for their social security and pension money or simply because they didn't like their way of life. Some of the victims were apparently gay or obese or even drug users and were known by their murderers. Most of the bodies were stored in an old bank building in Snowtown and a few more were found buried in a Salibury North backyard. John Justin Bunting, a psychopathic killer, was the apparent leader of the group and has been sentenced to multiple life terms. The other members of the "death squad" include Robert Joe Wagner who allowed Bunting to talk him into participating in the murder spree. Also Mark Ray Haydon, who helped dispose of the bodies and James Spyridon Vlassakis who, along with his half brother and his mother, were found guilty of torturing and murdering several of the victims. The film is made even more gruesome by the fact it is based on fact!

When a former cop goes out on a ledge, threatening to jump from the rooftop of a Manhattan hotel, the police rush to the scene. Soon the tactical team plus SWAT get involved and then a female cop and psychologist asks to help talk him down from the ledge. Things get interesting when we find the apparent suicide attempt is merely a front for a huge diamond heist that the Man on a Ledge has planned out with his brother. ilmed in New York, this action packed thriller stars Sam Worthington (Clash of the Titans, Avatar) is Nick Cassidy, Elizabeth Banks (30 Rock, Scrubs) is Lydia Mercer, Joey Cassidy is played by Jamie Bell (The Adventures of Tintin, Jumper), Ed Harris (Appaloosa, The Abyss) is David Englander, and Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer, Phenomenon) plays the part of Suzie Morales. Cops gone bad seems to be a popular theme in movies lately but this time around the plot twists are especially thrilling!
