The mid 20th century found much of the free world in fear of those who chose to do harm to any who did not agree with their way of thinking. Soviet Russia was the biggest threat at the time and we used spies to investigate what they were up to constantly. They, in turn, also had their spies who kept a close eye on the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
