Congratulations to all of those who liked Public Enemy with Johnny Depp, now they have more hard-boiled action thriller, Gangster Squad, unfortunately without Johnny. However the absence of Depp is easily compensated by a magnificent assembly of the cast, flawlessly selected by Ruben Fleischer who previously directed Zombieland and working on Zombieland 2 at the day of The Gangster Squad release. Returning to the abovementioned cast, the set of starring actors is really staggering: Ryan Gosling is portraying the main protagonist Sgt. Jerry Wooters who is serving in small (but very secret) LAPD squad chasing the major villain, Mickey Cohen, a mob ringleader. Cohen rules everything to the west from Chicago: prostitution, drug dealing, contract murders and bribes to politicians and officials. He controls everything and everyone. Sean Penn has professionally played the role of this uber-gangtser. Not worse managed with their roles gorgeous Emma Stone (as Grace Faraday) and Josh Brolin (as John O'Mara). The rest array of celebs involved in the film includes: Giovanni Ribisi (Ted, Contraband), Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z), Michael PeГ±a (Chavez, End of Watch), Nick Nolte (Luck, Warrior), Anthony Mackie (Vipaka, Real Steel) and Robert Patrick (Mafia, Safe House).

No one could predict that one only insignificant event will ignite the entire chain of catastrophically hazardous happenings leading to potentially "unhappy end". The former enemies, a retired criminal Jacob Sternwood and a gritty copper Max Lewinsky both have learn how to survive invisible threats, which makes them a team. The movie was directed by Eran Creevy, a man behind Shifty (2009), Scoop, Breakfast on Pluto and Wimbledon. He gathered an awesome ensemble in his thriller Welcome to the Punch: Jacob Sternwood is played by Mark Strong (Mindscape, Zero Dark Thirty, John Carter and Green Lantern) while James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class, The Conspirator, Atonement and The Last King of Scotland) stars as Max Lewinsky.

Richard Gere still looks good! He is retired from his CIA job and now paired up with a younger FBI agent and put onto the trail of a murdered senator's killer. Is it the same Soviet assassin that Gere's character, Paul Shepherdson had been hounding for decades? But he was killed years ago… or was he? he trailer shows there are plenty of twists and turns here and it's going to be challenging to solve the mystery before its conclusion but we do know that Richard Gere is dedicated to completing his task of solving this mystery, once and for all.ritten and directed by Michael Brandt (2 Fast 2 Furious, 3:10 to Yuma) knows how to put out a fast paced script that takes us for a wild ride! Richard Gere, who has played cops (Brooklyn's Finest), dancers (Shall We Dance), and doctors (Nights in Rodanthe), is on top of his game in The Double as a worn out former employee with the CIA. He sees one last chance to take down the Soviet killer he'd been after most of his career. Teamed up with a young agent with the FBI Ben Geary (Topher Grace from Take Me Home Tonight, Predators) who has studied Shepherdson and his career for a Master Thesis and seems to know the man as well as anyone could. Martin Sheen (The West Wing, Apocalypse Now).artin Sheen is Tom Highland, CIA director and friend of Gere's Shepherdson who may be more involved than the movie displays in the beginning. Watch for Sheen's character to throw some surprised into the mix.
