"Valkyrie" is a 2008 historical thriller movie based on the true story of the July 20 Plot of 1944, a failed assassination attempt against Adolf Hitler by German officers who were opposed to the Nazi regime. Years later, basking in the rays of glory, he meets The Old Man, who apparently turns to be the novel's creator. From that moment Rory gradually understands what price he has to pay for his false success.

When Fields discovers the murders mirror stories that have been showing up in the newspapers and are among a series of stories written by Poe, he is first suspicious of the writer but then finds another similar murder has happened even as the writer is held by police.ohn Cusack (Con Air, Pushing Tin) plays the part of Edgar Allen Poe in his last days, Police Inspector Emmett Fields is played by Luke Evans (The Three Musketeers, Immortals) who asks the famous Poe for his help in solving the murders and catching the killer before more are killed. Virginia Clemm-Poe is Poe's wife and played by Alice Eve (She's Out of My League, Sex and the City 2).
