Public Enemies is fair to compare with the cult Heat released fifteen years ago, but it seems that this time the Michael Mann jumped above the head, and it is not surprising as it seems at first glance. The film is made even more gruesome by the fact it is based on fact!

Richard Gere still looks good! He is retired from his CIA job and now paired up with a younger FBI agent and put onto the trail of a murdered senator's killer. Is it the same Soviet assassin that Gere's character, Paul Shepherdson had been hounding for decades? He sees one last chance to take down the Soviet killer he'd been after most of his career. Teamed up with a young agent with the FBI Ben Geary (Topher Grace from Take Me Home Tonight, Predators) who has studied Shepherdson and his career for a Master Thesis and seems to know the man as well as anyone could. Martin Sheen (The West Wing, Apocalypse Now).artin Sheen is Tom Highland, CIA director and friend of Gere's Shepherdson who may be more involved than the movie displays in the beginning. Watch for Sheen's character to throw some surprised into the mix.
