When Colin Diamond learns that his wife, Liz, has been unfaithful, his friends kidnap her lover and confine him in a bare London room. They expect Colin to take revenge, but the improvised tribunal instead becomes a pressure chamber for grief, wounded pride and the stories men tell one another about loyalty.
Malcolm Venville directs a screenplay by Louis Mellis and David Scinto, with Ray Winstone at the center of an ensemble that includes Ian McShane, John Hurt, Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Dillane and Joanne Whalley. More chamber drama than conventional gangster thriller, the film uses its confined setting and caustic dialogue to examine whether anger can restore a damaged relationship.
