It takes a magical Bodhi tree to show Jack McCall, a literary agent with a gift for gab, that he talks too much. The tree, a symbol of wisdom and honesty, begins losing its leaves at a rate of one per word issued by Jack McCall. And as Jack is a major talker this causes severe trauma to the magical tree. When Jack learns that he will die after he speaks (and the tree loses) one thousand he finds he is hit with a karmic repercussion that he needs to eliminate. John Carter is an epic hero from novels written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, one of the most beloved and prolific writers of the 20th Century. This movie version has John Carter being transported to what is called Barsoom or Mars and entering conflicts between the planet's nations. There he encounters leaders Tars Tarkas as well as Princess Dejah Thoris as he attempts to save the people of Barsoom. Based on the novel titled A Princess of Mars, John Carter was first published as a serial in magazines back in 1912 before becoming a novel. The lead character, Carter, is a veteran of the Civil War in America and while on Mars he encounters huge green barbarians who are twelve feet tall with six limbs and long dangerous tusks. It is a world that is difficult to survive in and Carter must fight his way back home again if he can.aylor Kitsch of the TV series Friday Night Lights stars as John Carter, Willem Dafoe (Daybreakers, Spider-Man 3) is Tars Tarkas, and Princess Dejah Thoris is played by Lynn Collins (True Blood, Haunted).

The Pirates! Band of Misfits is yet another animated film with 3-D action and plenty of familiar voices from top notch actors that the kids will love. Around Christmas is always a favorite time of year for family oriented films and this year there are a lot of them! In "The Pirates" we see the Pirate Captain with a mission in mind to out do their rivals who are Black Bellamy and also Cutlass Liz. They are in the competition for an award for Pirate of the Year. Along the way the Captain hand crew travel from the shore on Blood Island deep into the fog bound streets of old Victorian London.his is stop motion buy still has plenty of computer graphics that do a lot for the visual elements such as rolling sea and spectacular scenery. The CG technology allows for more visual and expanded scenery plus adding that old wooden boat that could not possibly actually float in real time. But it's fun!oices include Hugh Grant as Pirate Captain, Cutlass Liza is voiced by Salma Hayek, Jeremy Piven is the voice of Black Bellamy, and as Queen Victoria we hear Imelda Staunton. All come together to create a family fun movie for the holidays!

They have crossed over from television series to feature length movie. While some have been more successful than others, each can claim its own piece of the entertainment market.OX networks 21 Jump Street was a novel concept that involved teenage looking "cops" who could penetrate the high schools and search out drug dealers and others who attempt to corrupt teenagers back in the 80's and still do even today! Original stars from the 80's version of Jump Street included Johnny Depp, Richard Grieco, Peter DeLouise, and Holly Robinson Peete who each have since had successful careers. The new version stars Jonah Hill (Moneyball, Get Him to the Greek) as Schmidt and Channing Tatum (Haywire, The Dilemma) as Jenko. Both young men look younger than their years and with less than perfect reputations find they have the opportunity to make up for their past by becoming police officers and fighting perps that would lead teens into drugs and corruption. In other words just like the 80's version but with different players.

The star of such exciting action packed films as The Expendables, The Mechanic, and Killer Elite knows how to mesmerize audiences who come to see plenty of action! In Safe we find he is now an ex cop who had been working on becoming a serious fighter and has only succeeded in becoming a second rate one in the mixed martial arts MMA leagues. Surprising to find him playing a former member of law enforcement but the brawls, guns that never seem to run out of bullets, and seemingly painless jumps through windows are all there just like previous roles he's played. This time around he needs to rescue a Chinese girl who has been kidnapped.long with Statham are Chris Sarandon (The Chosen One, The Dead Will Tell), Robert Burke (Miracle at St. Anna, Good Night and Good Luck), and Catherine Chen (Chez N'Ham). Between the crooked New York City policemen and both the Russian and Chinese mafias there is plenty of reason to fear for the 12 year old girl everybody seems to be after. It's up to Jason Statham's character to rescue the girl and save the day.

Animated feature film Brave is the latest 3D flick to come from the Disney stables and it appears to be a winner! True to legend there are curses and witches who bestow them on the innocent. When Princess Merida, who is a skilled archer, defied an ancient custom she found out how badly her actions were taken when the lords of the land unleashed a beastly curse on her. When Merida consults with an old wise woman she advises her by granting an ill fated wish that brings on a beastly curse. Now Merida must find a way to remove her curse and it will take bravery on her part to convince the wicked old witch to take it back. Along the way she encounters such characters as Lord Dingwall (Robbie Contrane from the Harry Potter series), and Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd from Made of Honor, Hannibal Rising). Her parents King Fergus (Billy Connolly from Billy Connolly's Route 66, Gulliver's Travels) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson from Sense and Sensibility, Howard's End) know their daughter to be impetuous but also brave and skilled as an archer so they allow her to live her own life and travel down her own chosen path as she learns about the rewards of bravery.

When three seniors from high school decide to throw a birthday party they plan on doing it up big! A super party that will help them make a name for themselves and as the night's activities progress things definitely take a turn for the worse when word gets out that a great party is the place to be! Project X has received an R rating because of lots of scenes involving teen age drinking, drugs, nudity, foul language, mayhem and just plain old reckless behavior. een age parties are one thing but when they get out of hand as this one does, it becomes a disaster for the house where they party and the hosts who cannot control the out of bounds mayhem. When police arrive the fighting really begins and the must call in the riot police!tarring as Thomas is Thomas Mann (The Middle, iCarly), Jonathan Daniel Brown (Blind on Blind, Pretend Time) is J.B., and Nichole Bloom (Carpool, Everyday) plays the part of Nicole. All cute young teens that deserve better than this crude movie!
