Your Highness (2011). About rescuing fair damsels in distress… It's a historic and predictable epic comedy that tells of the chivalry and bravery of handsome knights dashing about saving fair damsels who may be in distress. They do this even while slaying dragons and conquering the evil that was all around them back in those epic times. Times when even heroes occasionally had to put up with ne'er do well brothers who never seem to learn right from wrong. James Franco (as Prince Fabious) and Danny McBride (as weak willed brother Thadeous) pair up to defeat evil and save their realm, a fantasy land called Your Highness. When the Prince known as Fabious's bride is stolen he sets out to rescue her from her kidnappers and the ever lazy and useless Thadeous follows along to help. Jane Eyre a classic movie in every sense of the word… Based on the classic book by Charlotte Bronte, Jane Eyre the movie (2011) is a period romance that explores the characters life as defined by stages. School days at Lowood find her acquiring friends although she misses out on a lot of her youth. Later Jane becomes a governess at Thornfield Hall where she falls in love with Edward Rochester, her employer.ane Eyre was written as a first person type story so is somewhat an autobiography with darkness and social criticism. It does make a good "read" however, as there is a strong sense of morality in this young woman in spite of all she's been through in her lifetime.
The Roommate's premise seems simple enough, and in light of Virginia Tech and elsewhere, maybe even plausible. The studio says The Roommate is, ""A psychological thriller about a deranged college freshman who becomes obsessed with her new roommate." If the girls take Psych 101, they may learn "deranged" is not appropriate clinical vocabulary for a girl who systematically and deliberately murders all of her roommate's friends and loved ones. To their credit, Leighton Meister who plays Rebecca, first-year serial killer, and Minka Kelly, who plays Sara, unwilling object of obsession, rise above primitive writing and production values that fall far short of the balance between sex and fear, redeeming the movie as much as any two gifted girls might. The Roommate may be more valuable as a promotional piece for Los Angeles Loyola Marymount University; and, over time, the film may be far notable as a showcase for 2011 college fashions than for its riveting representations of paranoid schizophrenia. Will those nasty blood stains wash out of that adorable Abercrombie skirt?
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is third and final episode in the saga."Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Michael Bay,Transformers: Dark of the Moon picks-up where the first two Transformers movies left-off, bringing the narrative to its natural denouement and giving-up some of the first two installments' scale and intensity in order to "go deeper into the mythos, give it more character development, and make it darker and more emotional." Official promotional materials for Transformers: Dark of the Moon summarize simply, "The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers' final battle." Adolescent boys of all ages may lament Megan Fox's decision not to reprise her performances as Mikaela, but they will appreciate the wisdom of Bay's decision not to replace her or contrive a substitute. A little shell-shocked from the epic failure of his Wall Street sequel, Shia LeBeouf attempts a sequel do-over in Transformers: Dark of the Moon ; and Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, and Ramon Rodriguez return for the final episode of the Transformers' saga. Perhaps most importantly, Peter Cullen once again puts his talents to work as the voice of Optimus Prime.
