Richard Curtis once again attempted to combine several genres and cater to all audiences, without an exception. The Boat That Rocked is sprightly comedy about horny rock propagandists. The movie is complemented by a gentle romantic touch of first love. Then it turns into a melodrama about growing up, finding one's own ego and his father. Then strives to make the step in the direction of a musical with indispensable Nighy dancing. It almost went into the drama: the British government still slightly crossed the line against the disgraced radio. And once again it becomes a comedy. Richard Curtis by doing nothing supernatural managed to go beyond this or that genre, really pleased everyone by this charming and even, "mainstream" movie.

Countdown to Zero movie features among other things, interviews with leading scientists and security experts both former and current leaders of the world most powerful states. Aside from describing the current situation, the film showcases how the nuclear war was prevented in the past and what we have to do now to avoid that horrible situation. Valhalla Rising is a film about one-eyed dumb warrior. He possessed supernatural powers and many considered him the leader of the Norwegian Bard. But, if you expect to see action and tough battles, then it is worth to watch this movie for you. This is a very weird film; it does that one to watch with your friends or girlfriend. This is a movie that you want to watch, watch and think. In the beginning, when you look at the first footage of this dark movie, it seems that the camera was given into the hands of the layman, but then when you start with a head dive into the dark species, when you put it mildly, they "kill". Landscapes in the film are though gloomy, constant sleet and cold wind, but it's all so subjects that pervades. Very slowly moving forward action the Valhalla Rising allows you to enjoy the beauties of nature. And the cruelest human flesh chopping looks cool in these surroundings.

In the center of the Ramona and Beezus movie are sisters Quimby - Ramona (Joey King) and Beatrice (Selena Gomez), Beezus, as Beatrice nicknamed Ramona. Ramona - funny, crazy and unpredictable personality, and the academic success is not her strong side, but Beezus, unlike her younger sister: excellent pupil, beautiful and just perfect all over a girl. Because of its brisk nature of Ramona is often faced with misunderstanding others, especially in relations with Beezus. Sister quarrel over their different characters and totally opposite views on life, but, in fact, each of them to each other is jealous: Ramona wants to be perfect, as Beezus in her turn wants to be like Ramon, a person who is not wearing a mask in front of others.

The Last Legion is a much predicable movie: it fills a storyline gap between the Roman Empire and the legend of King Arthur, logically linking them, showing the continuity and integrity of both history and story. Especially by a remarkable way of the sword Excalibur, forged from iron ore from a meteorite fallen on Earth. So this movie should appear sooner or later, due the lack of original stories every unoccupied niche certainly is filled. Thus, the source is good. What do we have as a result? The film is not historical, but "based on" - however, it does not a bug, but only a feature, since not all because movies of the past must be strictly historical. Although significant fact: "Pirates of the Caribbean" can be easily forgiven of the almost complete lack of connection with history, but for "The Last Legion" it is the main disadvantage from the critics point of view… kind of weird logic.

Brothers is a film of halftones, notes on the margins, where the beauty is in the Details. But, like many other such intricate work, the film seemed not over: cut off in mid-sentence. The brothers conflict ends with the simple phrase. Sam's internal conflict, the break of conscience after capture in Afghanistan is just honesty. From this point of view Brothers are perceived only a demonstration of acting, the spectacular, of course, but still remaining essentially "the casting". Psychological observations, the reliability of the details and fine texture of the characters are the wonderful elements of the movie, but really outstanding masterpieces are crowned with the point, not the dots.

Planet 51 is a very talented movie. It features very luxurious animated component, even taking into consideration that all aliens in the cartoon are strongly reminiscent to Shrek. Plot elements are flawlessly too, and you can watch Planet 51 with interest and you will not be able to predict the denouement even in a few minutes before finale. And there is quite successful and modern idea of making a cartoon in which using the aliens you can gently poke fun the petit bourgeois way of life. Cartoon has all chances to stand of the shelf next to all the best samples of the genre.

We learned long time ago about the fact that life begins after 40 years only, but the paradigm of female happiness inexhaustible, and this proves the It's Complicated movie. Brilliant artists and masters of comedy Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin play a love triangle easily, gently, as if dancing: the performers do not have anything from a squeeze. While watching this movie you feel that the script allowed the actors to enjoy its content and dynamic form of a play in the process of implementing the project, which even then talking about the perception of the results of such work. The film, targeted at the female audience, gives a pleasant, warm pleasure thanks to flirtatious and vibrant Streep's heroine, her shy and sweet suitor played by Martin and brutal ex-husband by Baldwin. Success and good fortune of the film based on the win-win bet on actors. They play every funny scene as the little comedy sketch, bringing a light, somewhat pleasant sadness.

Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is a hymn to the absurd and total irrationality of everything. You can feel itwhen you are on the way of your own self-destruction, when the moral imperatives are thrown in the trash, and the place occupied by sleeping rational naughty and daring instincts. It is paradoxical but true: it is Herzog managed to break Nicolas Cage's (with rare perseverance ruin their once-glorious career) familiar mask of grief and sorrow. In fact, this local success is a mirror image of director's methods of the maestro.

There are reasons to watch Precious and not just because of Mo `Nick received for her Oscar for the second plan role, and Gabouri Sidibe got the nomination for Best Actress. Precious is not just a history of trouble, not even "Uncle Tom's Cabin" for feminine or manifest of inhabitants of the ghetto. Lee Daniels goes in the footsteps of Sapphire to explore the girl's life, which no one has ever loved. She unexpectedly transforms when she found people taking part in her life. In this case, the default is it that love is very opposite to the sex. Cinema rarely takes a task to prove that there is the love which can rise up people from the bestial thoughtless existence in the pre-human ghettos, believing that the Sermon on the Mount was already held. As it turned out, there are exceptions…
