Danger and evil lurk behind this small town's sleepy exterior and both mom and daughter soon find their dream home is haunted and teeming with terror and violence. Evidently years ago a girl killed both her parents as they slept in their beds in the house next door. She disappeared leaving Ryan (her brother) as the lone survivor of the family. When Elissa and Ryan get cozy the dangers grow! Elissa is played by Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games), Sarah is played by Elisabeth Shue (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), and playing Ryan is Max Thieriot (The Family Tree). Small towns seem to have more secrets even than large cities or at least they sure seem to have scarier past histories.
With a talent filled cast and plenty of inspiring music to offer Sparkle will most assuredly be one to see as well as listen to this year! Starring Jordin Sparks in the role of Sparkle, sounds like an ideal combination. Sparks was named the winner of season 6 on American Idol in 2007 and her career has never looked so promising since. In what may be her final acting role, Whitney Houston plays Sparkle's mom, a single mother with high hopes for her daughter's singing career. The sing together along with two sisters and absolutely sound like the Supremes did back in the 1960's.n original film titled Sparkle depicted a family of three sisters who formed a girl group from Harlem in the 50's but this remake centers them in Detroit in the 60's and is a far better tribute to the Supremes than Dreamgirls ever could be. Cast includes the late Whitney Houston (Waiting To Exhale), Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher), and Mike Epps (Jumping The Broom). Sparkle's sisters are played by Carmen Ejogo, and Tika Sumpter.
An all star cast do voice over's for this quirky fun filled animated version that has a setting at the scary hotel in a far away place known as Transylvania. Dracula operates an out of the way high end resort hotel but discovers his daughter is being romanced by a teenage boy and becomes an overprotective dad. Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie) is Mavis the teenage daughter of Dracula, Andy Samberg (Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs) is Jonathan the wayward traveler who falls for Mavis. Dracula cannot allow his daughter to fall in love with a mortal!lso in the cast you'll hear from Kevin James, David Spade, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Koechner, and Cee Lo Green.pparently romance with mere mortals is forbidden by the vampire set and this 3-D animated version of an old classic plays out the theme with fun and panache. Thoroughly enjoyable for all ages!

Scream Queen Jessica Leigh Stroup (October Road, Prom Night) is a co-worker of Lori's. ohn has a teddy bear named Ted that magically comes to life as he always imagined it could. Romance finds John when he meets Lori, and the lifelong friendship between Ted and John turns into a disaster because the teddy bear refuses to "grow up". Although this film sounds cutsie it's not for kids due to language, drug use, and plenty of crude sexual comments and content. Enjoy it for what it is…. a cartoon come to life and just played for fun.
Actually the film as translated from a Douglas Kennedy book of the same title works exceedingly well. The Woman in the Fifth stars Ethan Hawke (Brooklyn's Finest, Daybreakers) as the writer Tom Ricks. Ricks moved to Paris to be near his daughter but falls into hard times and needs work to get him by the writer's block he developed. Soon he becomes enraptured by a French beauty by the name of Margit and his life becomes a bit more interesting.o-starring Kristin Scott Thomas (Sarah's Key, The Other Boleyn Girl) as Margit, Joanna Kulig (Time of Honor, Janosik: A True Story) as Ania, Geoffrey Carey (Glenn The Flying Robot, The Actress' Ball) as Laurent, and Delphine Chuillot (Mozart's Sister, Silent Voice) as Nathalie. When Ricks life is turned upside down in Paris, he is helped by a French Arab fellow who gives him a job as a security agent although his passion is writing and making amends with his daughter and estranged wife. Apparently this story's writer, Douglas Kennedy is out to prove it's always darkest before the storm, at least in Paris.

The dramatic storyline of "People Like Us" tells us about unfortunate broke salesman who is suddenly faced the bad news about his father and the necessity to deliver 150 grands to his sister he has never knew. He feels self-confident enough to convince her to let him left the money for himself, but very soon he realizes the futility of his life when he meets lonesome mother struggling for more significant needs than he could even imagine. The film was directed by Alex Kurtzman, who is better known as producer of action-packed movies like Star Trek and Cowboys & Aliens. People Like Us is his debut as director, and it's essential that this movie is a low budgeted one. However, it does not mean that something is wrong with this film. Awesome directional skills of Kurtzman multiplied on perfect assembly of cast and heart-touching screenplay (co-written by Alex too) resulted in must-see masterpiece equally standing among his other works as producer like Transformers Prime, Exit Strategy, Exit Strategy, Hawaii Five-0, Fringe. But, let's go back to the cast: beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer (Dark Shadows, Stardust) as Lillian is accompanied by Elizabeth Banks and charming Olivia Wilde (In Time, Tron: Legacy) as Hanna. The "downshifting" salesman is portrayed by Chris Pine, who is well known for his roles in latest Star Treks and very funny dramcom This Means War.
