The story of The Place Beyond the Pines is revolving around two destinies: father's and son's. Luck Glanton, a stunt rider, got a surprise – his girlfriend, Romina, comes back with a newborn boy. Guess who is this little guy? Now, Luke has two more things to look after besides his bike. Perhaps he measured his responsibility too seriously, when he decides to rob the bank in order to secure his son's bright future. Nevertheless, this "fathering" has attracted appropriate attention of local police department in person of cop-turned-politician Avery Cross who chases Luck for bank robbery. Although Luck has stolen 40 thousands only his future for Avery is clear: Luck will go to jail. But suddenly, the story takes an unexpected turn. Derek Cianfrance's The Place Beyond the Pines has got an impossible 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes just after the movie hit the screens of Toronto International Film Festival. The brilliant play of actors cast and powerful drama has received positive critical acclaim by most of the critics reviewed the movie. The main protagonist Luck Glanton is played by Ryan Gosling (Gangster Squad, The Ides of March, Drive), who managed to outdo himself in The Place Beyond the Pines. After the twenty years Barnabas becomes reach and famous in the small city of Collinsport and the master of Collinwood Manor. Acting like some sort of local Casanova he breaks the heart of one witch, Angelique Bouchard. There were two issues with this case: the first, she was the real witch and, and the second, it was a fatal mistake of Barnabas. Her reaction was lightning fast and literally inescapable: she turns him in the vampire and buries him for greater certainty. But after 200 years due to some accident he frees from the grave and tries to return to a normal life. But a normal life does not exist in 1972, anymore. Barnabas realizes it after visiting the ruins of former Collinwood Manor, now occupied by his dysfunctional descendants. There the story of Dark Shadows begins.

It doesn't even matter if you've ever read the novel written by the greatest Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy, or, maybe, you doesn't even heard about Anna Karenina (what is unlikely.) Anyway, this awesome story deserves to be laid on film tape more and more times. And for those, who plans to get an Oscar in this year there are no better way to do it than to make a movie using the unparalleled Tolstoy's masterpiece. The whole plot of the novel has been left intact: the action unfolds in the 19th century Russia, where the social elite have its own rules and traditions, and where adultery is counting as the worst sin ever. In those classy times, the story follows a young woman Anna (Keira Knightley), who is happily married to top-echelon officer Alexei Karenin (Jude Law). She unexpectedly meets the man of her dreams, Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson) and falls in love with him. Their mutual romantic relationship leads the cinematic adaptation's plot to the predictable dramatic end, where a train plays a crucial and a final role.

Water for Elephants comes out in 2011 as an adaptation from the novel by Sara Gruen published in 2006. The movie, starts as a flashback of an old man and is set during the time of the Great Depression stars Robert Pattinson, of Twilight fame, playing a veterinary student, named Jacob Jankowski, who is orphaned and finds himself jumping aboard a passing train transporting the Benzini Brothers traveling circus. Jacob becomes the de facto veterinarian for the circus animals, including an elephant, name Rosie, who is 'un-trainable' until Pattinson's character finds a way to get through to her. Of course, there is a love triangle involving Pattinson, Academy Award winner Christopher Waltz, and the ever so hot Resse Witherspoon in here as well, but in order to avoid the spoiler, no more will be said. Suffice it to say, those who want to feel that 'tug' at their heartstrings will not be disappointed.

Brothers is a film of halftones, notes on the margins, where the beauty is in the Details. But, like many other such intricate work, the film seemed not over: cut off in mid-sentence. The brothers conflict ends with the simple phrase. Sam's internal conflict, the break of conscience after capture in Afghanistan is just honesty. From this point of view Brothers are perceived only a demonstration of acting, the spectacular, of course, but still remaining essentially "the casting". Psychological observations, the reliability of the details and fine texture of the characters are the wonderful elements of the movie, but really outstanding masterpieces are crowned with the point, not the dots.

127 hours is a drama movie with a significant portion of thriller. The Movie was released in 2010 and starred James Franco. It was directed and by written by Danny Boyle in association with Simon Beaufoy. 127 hours is completely based on the real story of Aron Ralston, a professional mountain climber who was cached in a trap by a massive rock drop. To rescue himself he amputated one of his arms after a five days surviving in hostile conditions. The movie follows the same story. In 2003, Aron Ralston (James Franco) was climbing in a remote canyon in Utah (United States) and a rock caught his arm. Only his accident strangers Megan (Amber Tamblyn) and Christie (Kate Mara) know where you can be, since met him minutes before. Equipped, with the video camera and a pocket knife only, Ralston seems to have the hours counted his life. His right forearm was pinned under a large stone block and was there for almost five days, until realized that the place where it was not rescued. Then he decided to cut his right forearm with a small knife. Then he wrapped his stump and climbed a hill to find a family who was so close, but knowing nothing about his drama…
