Fire Country is a CBS firefighting drama co-created by and starring Max Thieriot, and one of the most-watched scripted series on American broadcast television. It follows Bobby Bode Donovan, a young convict who joins a prison release program that places incarcerated firefighters on the front lines of Northern California's wildfires in exchange for a shot at reducing their sentences.
Bode is assigned to work in Edgewater, his small hometown, where he must face the family and community he left behind as he fights alongside the local Cal Fire crew. The ensemble includes Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Billy Burke and Jordan Calloway, and the series balances high-stakes rescue set pieces with the family melodrama and small-town tensions at its emotional core.
A breakout hit for CBS, Fire Country consistently ranks among the top-rated scripted series on American broadcast television and has spawned an expanding franchise of spin-offs. Its blend of procedural firefighting action and soapy family drama has made it a dependable ratings anchor across multiple seasons. It streams on Paramount+.
The Better Sister is a twisty Prime Video limited series adapted from Alafair Burke's 2019 domestic-noir novel, headlined by Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, who also executive produce. Built around the fraught, competitive bond between two sisters, the series trades in the glossy, secret-riddled suspense that has made the modern domestic thriller a streaming staple, using a shocking murder to pry open a family's carefully maintained facade.
Biel plays Chloe, a polished, successful media executive with an enviable life, while Banks plays her estranged, harder-luck sister Nicky. The two are violently thrown back together when Chloe's husband — who happens to be Nicky's ex — is murdered, and the investigation drags long-buried secrets, old resentments, and competing versions of the truth into the light. Corey Stoll and Kim Dickens co-star in a story that keeps shifting the ground beneath the audience's assumptions about who these women really are.
While reviews were mixed on the show's later-episode twists, the pairing of Biel and Banks proved a genuine draw, and the series quickly climbed into Prime Video's most-watched charts after its release. A sleek, bingeable mystery powered by two committed lead performances, The Better Sister is streaming on Prime Video.
Forever is a tender, deeply felt Netflix coming-of-age romance created by Mara Brock Akil, the writer-producer behind Girlfriends and The Game, who reimagines Judy Blume's landmark 1975 novel for a new era. Relocating the story to Los Angeles in 2018 and centering it on two Black teenagers, Akil transforms Blume's frank tale of first love into something both timeless and specific — a warm, unhurried portrait of young people navigating desire, ambition, and family expectation.
The series follows Keisha Clark (Lovie Simone), a driven track star with her sights set on college, and Justin Edwards (Michael Cooper Jr.), a sweet, uncertain teen from a well-off family still figuring out who he wants to be. Their romance unfolds across a single pivotal year, complicated by the pressures of social media, class differences, and parents who love them fiercely and worry constantly. Karen Pittman and Wood Harris play Justin's parents, grounding the young love story in a richly drawn family world.
Critics embraced Forever as some of Akil's finest work, praising its emotional honesty, its refusal to rush, and its loving depiction of Black Los Angeles. The series struck a chord with viewers and was renewed for a second season, confirming its place as one of the year's standout streaming romances. Forever is streaming on Netflix.
Stick is an easygoing, warmhearted sports comedy from Apple TV+ that feels tailor-made for Owen Wilson's laid-back charm. Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, a former professional golfer whose career flamed out decades ago and whose life has since drifted into disrepair — a marriage in tatters, a job selling equipment at a sporting-goods store, and a lot of unfinished business with himself. When he stumbles upon a raw, extraordinarily gifted teenager on a driving range, he sees one last chance to matter, and talks his way into becoming the kid's unofficial coach.
Created by Jason Keller, the series follows Pryce and the prickly prodigy Santi (Peter Dager) as they hit the road chasing amateur tournaments, assembling a makeshift family of misfits along the way. Marc Maron is a highlight as Pryce's acerbic best friend and caddie, with Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, and Judy Greer rounding out the ensemble, and Timothy Olyphant turning up in a memorable supporting turn. Beneath the easy laughs, the show is really about second chances, mentorship, and learning to forgive yourself.
Critics welcomed Stick as ideal summer comfort viewing — gentle, character-driven, and anchored by Wilson's effortless likability — and Apple renewed it for a second season within weeks of its debut. It is the kind of unhurried, feel-good series streaming does not make often enough. Stick is streaming on Apple TV+.
The Morning Show is Apple TV+'s flagship drama and one of the titles that launched the service back in 2019, a glossy, star-studded look behind the scenes of a network morning program where on-air smiles conceal ruthless corporate warfare. Created by Jay Carson and overseen by showrunner Charlotte Stoudt, the series has always used the fictional UBA network as a lens on power, ambition, and the shifting ground beneath American media, anchored by the formidable pairing of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
Season 4, which premiered in September 2025, jumps forward to 2024 and plunges Alex Levy (Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon) into a newly merged media empire rife with deepfakes, artificial intelligence, corporate espionage, and questions about truth itself. The new season folds in a wave of high-profile additions — including Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and Aaron Pierre — alongside returning players Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, and Karen Pittman, as the network's leadership fights to control the story both on and off camera.
A reliable awards contender that won Billy Crudup an Emmy and has collected nominations across its run, the series was renewed for a fifth season even before the fourth premiered, a vote of confidence in its enduring pull. Propelled by the movie-star wattage of its leads and its appetite for ripped-from-the-headlines drama, The Morning Show streams on Apple TV+.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva is a Paramount+ action-drama and the latest spinoff in the long-running NCIS franchise, reuniting two of the mothership series' most beloved characters. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprise their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, the will-they-won't-they fan favorites whose romance was one of the original show's defining threads. Created by John McNamara, the series finally reunites the pair years after each departed the flagship show.
The story finds Tony raising the couple's daughter, Tali, while running a security company in Paris. When he comes under attack, Tony and Ziva are thrown back together and forced to go on the run across Europe, trying to uncover who is targeting them while navigating their complicated history as parents and partners. The result blends globe-trotting, espionage-tinged action with the character-driven banter that made the duo so popular.
Premiering on Paramount+ in September 2025, the series capitalized on years of fan demand for a Tony and Ziva reunion and extended the NCIS brand into serialized, internationally set storytelling. Filmed in Europe, it leans on the star chemistry of Weatherly and de Pablo to carry a fresh chapter in one of television's most durable franchises. NCIS: Tony & Ziva streams on Paramount+.
His & Hers is a Netflix psychological thriller adapted from Alice Feeney's best-selling 2020 novel, built around a structural gimmick baked into its title: the same events told from two clashing points of view, his and hers, with the truth lurking somewhere in between. The twisty small-town murder mystery leans into unreliable narration and shifting sympathies as it doles out its secrets.
Tessa Thompson, who also executive produces, stars as a television news anchor whose life collides with a killing in the hometown she left behind. Jon Bernthal plays the detective, and her estranged former partner, assigned to the case, an investigation that repeatedly turns both of them into suspects. As the tagline promises, there are two sides and one killer secret, and the series keeps viewers guessing which version of events to trust.
Arriving in early 2026, His & Hers drew attention for the charged chemistry between its two leads and its deliberately destabilizing structure, delivering the kind of binge-ready, reveal-driven mystery Netflix has made a signature. His & Hers streams on Netflix.
Run Away is a Netflix mystery thriller adapted from Harlan Coben's 2019 novel, the latest in the best-selling author's sweeping multi-series partnership with the streamer. Made by the team behind the hit Coben adaptation Fool Me Once, it transplants the story to the United Kingdom and unspools as a twist-laden limited series in the tradition that has made Coben a global Netflix mainstay.
James Nesbitt stars as a father whose comfortable family life shatters when his estranged, troubled daughter vanishes into a dangerous world. His desperate search to bring her home drags him into a web of secrets, violence, and buried family history. Minnie Driver, Ruth Jones, and Alfred Enoch co-star in an ensemble that keeps the show's loyalties and truths in constant doubt.
Released at the start of 2026, Run Away became an immediate phenomenon, shooting to number one on Netflix around the world in its first days and briefly toppling the platform's biggest titles. Its propulsive, cliff-hanger-driven storytelling exemplified the addictive formula that has turned Coben's adaptations into reliable streaming juggernauts. Run Away streams on Netflix.
Cape Fear is an Apple TV+ psychological thriller that reimagines the story first told in John D. MacDonald's novel The Executioners and famously filmed in 1962 and again by Martin Scorsese in 1991. Developed by showrunner Nick Antosca, the series counts Scorsese and Steven Spielberg among its executive producers, lending Hollywood pedigree to a modern, expanded take on the material.
Javier Bardem stars as Max Cady, the vengeful ex-convict played on screen by Robert Mitchum and Robert De Niro, who fixates on the family of a lawyer he blames for his imprisonment. Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson play the couple whose lives Cady systematically invades, as the series stretches a taut two-hour premise into an eight-episode slow burn of intimidation, manipulation, and mounting dread.
Debuting in June 2026, the series uses its longer runtime to deepen the cat-and-mouse dynamic and to depart in significant ways from the earlier films, building to a divisive, talked-about finale. Anchored by Bardem's menacing performance and Adams's fraught heroine, it became one of Apple TV+'s signature dramas of the year. Cape Fear streams on Apple TV+.
Spider-Noir is a live-action superhero series on Prime Video, produced under the Amazon MGM and Sony partnership, that spins Nicolas Cage's animated Spider-Verse character off into his own hard-boiled detective story. Cage, who voiced Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, now plays the character in the flesh, headlining a period noir steeped in the shadows of Depression-era New York.
Set in the 1930s, the series follows an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator who was once the city's masked protector and finds himself pulled back into a dangerous case that forces the web-slinger out of retirement. Rendered largely in stark black and white to evoke classic film noir, the show trades the multiverse spectacle of its animated origins for gumshoes, gangsters, and grim mystery. Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, and Li Jun Li are among the cast.
Premiering in 2026, Spider-Noir stands out as the first live-action solo Spider-Man television series and an unusually stylish, adult-leaning take on the character. Building on the popularity of Cage's scene-stealing Spider-Verse role, it reimagines a comic-book hero through the lens of 1930s pulp detective fiction. Spider-Noir streams on Prime Video.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is an HBO Max fantasy series set in George R.R. Martin's world of Westeros, adapted from his Dunk and Egg novellas that began with The Hedge Knight. Developed by Martin and showrunner Ira Parker, it is the second live-action Game of Thrones spinoff after House of the Dragon and unfolds roughly ninety years before the events of the original series.
The story follows Ser Duncan the Tall, a lowborn, big-hearted hedge knight of little means, and his cunning young squire Egg, who is secretly far more than he appears. Peter Claffey stars as Dunk and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg, as the mismatched pair travel a more peaceful, hopeful Westeros in search of adventure, honor, and a place in the world, in a lighter and more intimate register than the sprawling political warfare of its predecessors.
Premiering in early 2026, the series was warmly received as a change of pace for the franchise, trading dragons and dynastic bloodshed for a charming buddy adventure rooted in chivalry and friendship. Martin, who has spoken fondly of the Dunk and Egg tales, remained closely involved in bringing them to the screen. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms streams on HBO Max.
