Stick is an easygoing, warmhearted sports comedy from Apple TV+ that feels tailor-made for Owen Wilson's laid-back charm. Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, a former professional golfer whose career flamed out decades ago and whose life has since drifted into disrepair — a marriage in tatters, a job selling equipment at a sporting-goods store, and a lot of unfinished business with himself. When he stumbles upon a raw, extraordinarily gifted teenager on a driving range, he sees one last chance to matter, and talks his way into becoming the kid's unofficial coach.

Created by Jason Keller, the series follows Pryce and the prickly prodigy Santi (Peter Dager) as they hit the road chasing amateur tournaments, assembling a makeshift family of misfits along the way. Marc Maron is a highlight as Pryce's acerbic best friend and caddie, with Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, and Judy Greer rounding out the ensemble, and Timothy Olyphant turning up in a memorable supporting turn. Beneath the easy laughs, the show is really about second chances, mentorship, and learning to forgive yourself.

Critics welcomed Stick as ideal summer comfort viewing — gentle, character-driven, and anchored by Wilson's effortless likability — and Apple renewed it for a second season within weeks of its debut.
