"Last Night in Soho" is a psychological horror-thriller film directed by Edgar Wright. The movie follows a young fashion student named Eloise who moves to London to attend a prestigious design school. However, she soon discovers that she has the ability to time travel to the 1960s and becomes enamored with the era's glamorous style and music. Eloise finds herself entangled in a dark and twisted mystery as she becomes increasingly drawn to a singer named Sandy, who lived during the 1960s in the same area of London.
As Eloise delves deeper into the past, she begins to witness disturbing and violent events that may be linked to Sandy's tragic fate. The movie explores themes of nostalgia, identity, and the dangers of living in the past. The film stars Thomasin McKenzie as Eloise, Anya Taylor-Joy as Sandy, and Matt Smith as Jack, a mysterious figure from the 1960s.
"Last Night in Soho" was initially set to release in 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It eventually premiered in September 2021 at the Venice Film Festival and received positive reviews from critics for its unique blend of horror and nostalgia. The movie also features an original soundtrack with classic 1960s hits as well as original songs composed by Steven Price.
