Arthur Kipps is a young attorney attempting to settle the affairs of Alice Drablow, recently deceased when he discovers strange things have been happening to the children of that community. Apparently someone killed several of them, all at the same time. A woman dressed in black attire walks in the area and whenever she is seen, a child is sure to die.his Woman in Black lost her own son Nathanial, who drown. Now she seeks revenge over his loss and can be seen walking, dressed in black with a black veil covering her face, which as eye sockets eaten out by scavengers. Arthur has a son (in London) who is now in danger from the Woman in Black's vengeance.ith the locals in an uproar, Arthur digs up Nathaniel's body and reburies it with his mother's body in hopes that peace will be restored.
