Canadian director David Cronenberg (The Brood, Scanners) may be somewhat out of his element with this story because it's more talky than his usual action packed films. Starring Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings series) as Freud, Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, Fish Tank) as Jung, and Keira Knightley (Atonement, Pirates of the Caribbean series) as the beautiful Sabina Spielrein, the woman who comes between Jung and Freud. She eventually became a successful therapist in her own right. Considered a historical film, A Dangerous Method deals with what happened back when psychotherapy was in its infancy and how psychiatrists learned how to best help those with mental problems.
