"Spotlight" is a 2015 drama film that tells the true story of the Boston Globe's investigative journalism team, known as "Spotlight," and their work to uncover the systemic child abuse by Catholic priests in Boston. Led by editor Walter Robinson, the team faces resistance and intimidation from the Catholic Church and the wider community as they delve deeper into the story. Anyway, this awesome story deserves to be laid on film tape more and more times. And for those, who plans to get an Oscar in this year there are no better way to do it than to make a movie using the unparalleled Tolstoy's masterpiece. The whole plot of the novel has been left intact: the action unfolds in the 19th century Russia, where the social elite have its own rules and traditions, and where adultery is counting as the worst sin ever. In those classy times, the story follows a young woman Anna (Keira Knightley), who is happily married to top-echelon officer Alexei Karenin (Jude Law). She unexpectedly meets the man of her dreams, Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson) and falls in love with him. Their mutual romantic relationship leads the cinematic adaptation's plot to the predictable dramatic end, where a train plays a crucial and a final role.

It does make a good "read" however, as there is a strong sense of morality in this young woman in spite of all she's been through in her lifetime.

The previous movie of David Cronenberg, a biography thriller The Dangerous Method, presented David as perfect mastermind of psycho -packed dramas, and Cosmopolis should not disappoint us. This also applies to Robert Pattison, a brilliant actor, and a rising star of Hollywood, whose mission to play thoughtful young men in the next ten years is apparently predetermined. But, let's go back the movie itself. Set in the Manhattan and filmed during the one month only, Cosmopolis reveals the inner side of richmen's life of New York city. A 28 years old financial prodigy Eric Packer (Robert Pattison) heads up to his hairdresser in super luxury limo rolling down the Manhattan streets. He can hardly imagine how his next 24 hours will turn out in this cosmopolitical metropolis. He'll cheat his wife. He'll be on the edge of losing his wealth and life. You know, everything can happen on the way to barber.

Steven Soderbergh's Side Effects scheduled to hit the screens in 2013 is centered on unfortunate woman Emily Hawkins who is waiting for her husband to be released from a prison. As the release time comes closer, Emily is showing more signs of anxiety. This anxiety leads to serious psychological issues and Emily takes psychologist consultations. The doctor prescribes a new drug to heal her troubled mind – a brand new wonder of modern pharmaceutical industry. The pills help Emily but incredibly effective medication shows its side effects. Now the issues caused by the pills seem to be much more threatening than initial Emily's troubles. Previously named The Better Pills, Side Effects isn't the first Steven Soderbergh's movie project in the field of "applied psychotechnics", just remember his We Need to Talk About Kevin and Playground; neither for Rooney Mara who plays the leading role in Side Effects, her remarkable roles in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network have showed a great potential of this brilliant actress. The rest of the cast ensemble is awesome too: Channing Tatum, Vinessa Shaw, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, David Costabile and Mamie Gummer – not every movie can boast such a set of great actors gathered in single project.

Based on factual events this film pits a pair of young enthusiastic attorneys against the established big money of the pharmaceutical industry. When an ER nurse is accidently pricked when handling a contaminated needle, the law firm which handles personal injury claims becomes involved. Mike Weiss, who is played by Chris Evans (Street Kings, Push), is young and dedicated even though he also happens to be a drug addict works for a Houston law firm that's main specialty is handling personal injury claims. His partner Paul Danziger (Mark Kassen of Bernard and Doris, The Sasquatch Gang) who also directs Puncture also works what could be their case of a lifetime. They take on the case involving a hospital ER nurse named Vicky (Vinessa Shaw from Two Lovers, Stag Night) who accidently stuck herself with a syringe. Seems the big drug companies prevent the use of safer syringes to ward off such accidents happening. They seem willing to risk permanent and sometimes fatal results without consideration for others.ach year millions risk infection and contamination by such diseases as Hepatitis C and even HIV when accidental pricks occur. This time around there are two young lawyers who care enough to pursue it to a settlement even though it stretches their law firms business to near collapse. This even takes on international proportions because of the millions who die each year in Africa due to faulty syringes.
