The pretty young Cassie Scerbo (Make It or Break It, CSI: Spring Breakdown) knows very well how to play snobbish and mean. She even says it's absolutely fun to be that never boring and totally spicy character. Proclaiming herself to be the "Queen of the Beam" in her high school, Amber Pollack (Scerbo) is confident to a fault. Amber Pollack is also deceased! Apparently she died after a freakish accident on prom night but must come to the aid of a rather unpopular girl named Lisa, played by Lindsey Shaw (Pretty Little Liars) before she can ascend to heaven. Tim Gunn (The Smurfs, Sex and the City 2) is an angel who gives Amber Pollack the orders to help out the less than popular young girl and give her the self confidence to go on and become the new prom queen. As she works on Lisa's personality she finds some of her own worse qualities are becoming part of Lisa's own dreadful qualities and comes to realize she was a truly poor human being before she died.

Just how much reality can we really stand? After being involved in a serious car accident with his wife and son Michael Britten, a police detective, must face the reality of one or the other of his loved ones having been killed in that wreck. He experiences "realities" involving each scenario and as we witness, his mind wraps around the existence of that reality being true. Scary as that may sound the detective does manage to perform his duties as a police detective and solve crimes. His captain (Laura Innes from ER, The Event) and his partner "Bird" Freeman (Steve Harris from Homicide: Life on the Streets, Law & Order) worry about Britten's sanity as he moves between two reality scenarios that are equally terrifying. Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter films, The Patriot) is detective Britten, a man who is Awake through his sorrow and visions. He wears colored rubber bands, each one different for the reality he sees. Red reflects his wife being alive and green for his son remaining alive. We, the viewing audience, can tell by color of those bands how much he pines for his missing loved ones.

Lovecraft Country is a television series based on the novel of the same name by Matt Ruff. The show is set in the 1950s and follows the story of Atticus Freeman, a Black man living in Jim Crow-era America who embarks on a journey with his family to find his missing father. Along the way, they encounter supernatural creatures and face racism from both humans and otherworldly beings.

When Captain Jack Harkness came from Doctor Who and the 51st century he was a happy man. When Rex Matheson (Mekhi Phifer from ER and Lie To Me) joins up as a CIA operative the plot thickens and the challenges become huge. Someone who faces lethal injection just will not die, and the rest of the world lives on as well. Jack Harkness himself is considered immortal since leaving the Torchwood Institute. What is there about that place that makes men immortal?
