Starting with a flashback montage of "Blood and Sand's" greatest hits, more precisely Batiatus's life flashing before his eyes in the moment before his death, "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" shows Batiatus's rise to prominence and power with the assistance and support of his all-pro gladiator Gannicus. Because these stories represent "a more ruthless time"¦where honor was just finding its way into the arena," the writers and producers feel free to elaborate and experiment with their already-established characters, and they feel similar artistic license with super-slow-motion gore and fun-fantasy sex. They clearly are perfecting their craft. So, if you are tired and bored by numerous CSI /NCIS you should try this new one "“ NYC 22. Despite all the cons (we should count in an outdated flat and glossy picture that still is CBS's "signature" bobble) of another one police investigation drama, NYC 22 features some pros as well. Let's start with Robert De Niro as an executive producer, who brought in lots of diverse and twisted scenario turns and some decent cast: you'll unlikely see elsewhere on conservative CBS a romance escalating between a handsome black ex-basketball professional player Jayson "Jackpot" Toney portrayed by Harold House Moore (whose filmography includes Single Ladies, Necessary Roughness, Lie to Me and House of Payne) and Jennifer, a cute blonde white rookie nicknamed "White Horse", played by gorgeous Leelee Sobieski "“ you may know her as Lolita from The Elder Son or Chloe in Night Train and the most attentive would probably notice her in Public Enemy with Johnny Depp.

Created by Josh Appelbaum, Happy Town depicts your typical small pleasant town full of average and friendly townsfolk until a series of kidnappings occur. Most of the residents assume the one called the "Magic Man" is responsible for the disappearance of seven who are never heard from again. The small sleepy town in Minnesota has been a Happy Town in which to live up until some of the local residents simply vanish in what apparently is a mystical way. The town's deputy, Tommy Conroy (Geoff Stults) can't figure out where the folks are going and residents Jay Paulson (as the deputy known as "Root Beer" Rogers, Rachel Conroy (actress Amy Acker), John Haplin played by Steven Weber), and Merritt Grieves (actor Sam Neill) can't help but worry who will be next to disappear. With the arrival of Henley Boone "Chloe" played by Lauren German the mystery gets deeper as she is determined to solve the intriguing case and find who is behind the disappearances once and for all. Set in a small town in Minnesota much of the show was filmed in and around Ontario, Canada.

Just how much reality can we really stand? After being involved in a serious car accident with his wife and son Michael Britten, a police detective, must face the reality of one or the other of his loved ones having been killed in that wreck. He experiences "realities" involving each scenario and as we witness, his mind wraps around the existence of that reality being true. Scary as that may sound the detective does manage to perform his duties as a police detective and solve crimes. His captain (Laura Innes from ER, The Event) and his partner "Bird" Freeman (Steve Harris from Homicide: Life on the Streets, Law & Order) worry about Britten's sanity as he moves between two reality scenarios that are equally terrifying. Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter films, The Patriot) is detective Britten, a man who is Awake through his sorrow and visions. He wears colored rubber bands, each one different for the reality he sees. Red reflects his wife being alive and green for his son remaining alive. We, the viewing audience, can tell by color of those bands how much he pines for his missing loved ones.
