Life on the forth planet from the sun, known as Mars, is adventurous to say the least. John Carter is an epic hero from novels written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, one of the most beloved and prolific writers of the 20th Century. This movie version has John Carter being transported to what is called Barsoom or Mars and entering conflicts between the planet's nations. There he encounters leaders Tars Tarkas as well as Princess Dejah Thoris as he attempts to save the people of Barsoom. Based on the novel titled A Princess of Mars, John Carter was first published as a serial in magazines back in 1912 before becoming a novel. The lead character, Carter, is a veteran of the Civil War in America and while on Mars he encounters huge green barbarians who are twelve feet tall with six limbs and long dangerous tusks. "Westworld" is a 1973 science fiction film written and directed by Michael Crichton. Seems the gene that ages us has been successfully switched off and people stop aging when they reach the ripe old age of 25. There is a clock stamped on each person's arm that dictates how long that individual will live. Time is a precious commodity that now is seen as the currency by which life is able to be sustained and even to accumulate any form of luxury and necessity. Rich will then be able to live on forever while those who have little find their lives cut short. e find that a poor young man who has been accused of a murder is seemingly doomed until he inherits a vast fortune in time from an upper class dead man. Time keepers are corrupt police who catch those who are rewarded with extra time such as the case of the young accused man and they aim to end his time and his life as well.

"Mothra vs. Godzilla" is a Japanese monster movie that was released in 1964. The film is part of the Godzilla franchise and follows the story of Godzilla, who is wreaking havoc in Japan, and Mothra, a giant moth-like creature, who comes to defend the country. The plot involves the villains trying to capture and exploit Mothra's egg, and the heroes' efforts to stop them.

More notably, Jennifer Lawrence—yes that Jennifer Lawrence, low-keyed "It Girl" from Winter's Bone and the Oscars' red carpet—plays Mystique, aka Raven Darkholme, shape-shifting mutant. By film's end, girl power may trump super-powers.
