This time around we appreciate the horror of Resident Evil in 3D and for the fifth time are scared nearly out of our wits by some great writing and superb acting that is not all that common in the horror genre of films. Maybe that is why we now are treated by a fifth installment of this popular and exciting film. Directed by as well as written by Paul Anderson, this is Anderson's third time up to bat and his experience is deep into the shaping of each character into what he wants of them. We find many returning actors playing their characters once again along with some new ones that transferred over from the video game versions.nce again Alice (Milla Jovovich from all five Resident Evil movies plus The Fourth Kind) is captured by the evil Umbrella. We find out more about her complicated past as she continues her quest for the ones who are at fault for the outbreak. Also returning as Jill Valentine is Sienna Guillory (Silence Becomes You), and Oded Fehr (TV's Covert Affairs) as Carlos Olivera who now returns as two different and opposing characters. Who says sequels never equal the original have yet to see Resident Evil: Retribution.

Resident Evil: Afterlife is the fourth film in the "Resident Evil" franchise. As the previous three movies it was produced by Paul Anderson, who also directed the very first of them: "The Resident Evil". The movie follows Ellis and his group of clones attacking the headquarter of the "Umbrella" corporation, located in a secure underground bunker beneath the streets of Tokyo. They kill all the staff and the security of the complex, but miss Albert Wesker, the chairman of the corporation who escapes and activates system of self-destruction of the underground headquarter in his attempt to destroy all clones of Alice. But real Alice pursues Wesker and tries to kill him in the aircraft. Wesker injects her a drug that neutralizes the T-virus, making Alice a normal person aircraft. Meanwhile aircraft crashes near Tokyo and Alice miraculously survives the fall, but does not detect Wesker…

It's a third appearance of Chris Hemsworth as mighty Thor after Kenneth Branagh's Thor filmed in 2011 and Joss Whedon's The Avengers filmed in 2012. The story of Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World is a direct sequel of the first movie and it takes place just year after the events of The Avengers. Now Thor stands against the ancient evil embodied in Malekith and his henchmen. This concentrated evil existed even before the history of our Galaxy has began. And there are no forces neither in Asgard nor on Earth to withstand them. Once again the destiny of the whole world is in Thor's hands. Once again he has to come back to Earth and fight with Malekith. When he meets his passion, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), his quest becomes more complicated – to rescue his love interest and save both Earth and Asgard. As for ensemble cast it's quite clear that previous movies successes inspired producers to inflate the budget significantly, besides the actors which were starring in the first movie Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins there some new Hollywood stars: Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who, Heroes, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (The Thing, Killer Elite, Faster), Zachary Levi (Stuntmen, Shades of Ray), and Tadanobu Asano (Battleship, 47 Ronin).

Riddick (2013), which previously was titled as The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking is the third movie of the Riddick franchise. The first one was low budget Pitch Black, which was filmed in 2000. This film gave a start both for The Chronicles of Riddick franchise and Vin Diesel career. The movie was a "sleeper hit" grossing over US$53 million in theaters with budget less than US$23 million. The second film in the franchise, The Chronicles of Riddick was less successful in profits: it generated over US$115 million with budget around US$100 million, but met mostly positive audience feedback, although critics met it with tepid reviews. Nevertheless, the third movie is aimed to repeat the success of the first film: it has relatively low budget grossing around US$38 million. The story of the Riddick (2013) revolves around the antihero, Richard B. Riddick. He is left on the scorched planet inhabited by alien predators. When he manages to activate an alarm beacon, it attracts the attention of two spaceships. The first one carries the hordes of thugs hired to kill Riddick, while the second one is captained by the man well known to him. Uncommon intelligence and inhuman strength help Riddick to use these guests to get away from the planet, commit an act of retaliation and rescue the people of his homeworld planet Furya from mass destruction.

With a stellar cast and direction by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, American Gangster) this science fiction film takes the audience on a trip with the spaceship's crew of the late 21st century to find the origin of humanity as we know it. The civilization of an advanced extra terrestrial race is the subject of interest that this team of scientists and archeologists investigates when they reach a distant planet. s a tribute or just to emulate the scene from Alien the crew are in suspended animation and have been for the past five years before Mudow (Kate Dickie from The Harvest, He Kills Coppers) a first officer rehabilitates the crew members physically. Ridley Scott himself said that Prometheus shares some "strands of DNA" with Alien but is another story entirely. oomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Beyond) stars as Elizabeth Shaw who is a scientist and archeologist who becomes somewhat of a warrior during the film. Other crewmembers include David (Michael Fassbender from Inglorious Bastards, Blood Creek), Guy Pearce (The King's Speech, The Hurt Locker) is Stannison, and Charlize Theron (Sleepwalking, The Italian Job) plays the part of Meeredith Vickers, corporate figurehead who is "somewhat of a villain" who slowly changes her skin throughout the film. Prometheus is a totally engrossing film from start to end.

Almost entire Roland Emmerich's career was devoted to t sci-fi movies. After moving to Hollywood, he continued to develop this genre: Universal Soldier, Stargate. And now, having reached some success in science fiction and received from producers large enough budget., Emmerich took up shooting the movie, who would later will be written in cinema history as one of the most popular of the genre: The Independence Day. "The movie immediately impress by the scale and epics. If there is the alien invasion, then it should be all over the world immediately. If there are the alien saucers, then they are extremely large. The plot immediately surprises you by the presence of nearly a dozen main characters, who at first seemed to be completely unrelated. It was only towards the end they were organically become the part of the storyline. By the way, the plot is a chronicle of alien invasion, consisting of detailed descriptions of the three days before the main holiday of the United States - July 4.
