Inception

Description

After "The Dark Knight" Christopher Nolan had no right to fail the next film. And after the "Inception" movie this right also will not appear. If James Cameron, the creator of Avatar, has sent mankind in the new world, Nolan gave no less than fantastic immersion into the world inside your own head, which is capable to show you new movie in 3D every night . "Inception" do not hesitate platitudes based on genre foundation, grinding the context in which appear. There are "The Matrix", "James Bond", "The Game" and "Shutter Island" mixed together, allowing to speculate about the essence of cinema and its perception. Cold rationality of thinking about ways to bring the audience to ecstasy is another Nolan's oxymoron. Experience that he perceives and reproduces as the construction and the movie looks like the universe. No wonder that its main character is an architect.

All the achievements of our civilization were ruined and recently prosperous megacities now forming whimsical landscapes with rivers running down the wide ex-avenues and waterfalls rushing down from the skyscrapers. In that hostile environment only artificial drones are alive to protect the Earth from possible aliens' comebacks. Drones and a couple dozens of people maintaining them are only the Earth population now, while the mission aimed to extract all the valuable resources left is in progress. Jack Harper is one of the "lucky ones" that has been left on Earth to secure the mission. His duty to repair drones and he is doing that job for many years. His only hobby is to read "old books" that has been written before the alien invasion. Jack's duty was about to be completed when he witnesses a starship crash and hurries to rescue possible survivors. He manages to save the life of beautiful woman, Julia, who seems to be familiar with him. However Jack doesn't know her and rests assured the he never met her. This event turns the known world of Jack Harper inside out. It seems like he was wrong about his purpose on the Earth. Soon after he meets the real population of the planet, a Resistance, and its leader Malcolm Beech. Oblivion was filmed by Universal Studios after the Radical Comics graphic novel of the same name. The movie stars Tom Cruise (Mission Imposible franchise, Van Helsing, All You Need Is Kill) as Jack Harper and Olga Kurylenko (La terre outragée, James Bond: Quantum of Solace, Max Payne) as Julia, while resistance leader is portrayed by Morgan Freeman (Now You See Me, Olympus Has Fallen, The Dark Knight Rises).
X-Men: First Class

X-Men: First Class

2011
Sci-Fi & Fantasy
Do not misread the connotations in the title X-Men: First Class. "First class" is a phrase which here does not mean "the best, the finest, the most luxurious," nor does it signify "the part of the plane with complimentary cocktails and room to stretch out." Take the phrase literally. In strangely oxymoronic style, the studio's promotional materials claim X-Men: First Class "charts the epic beginning (sic) of the X-Men saga," the first group of students to graduate from Professor X's school for reluctant super-heroes. "Who knew an "epic beginning" was possible? In their salad days, Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, ultimately sworn mortal enemies, were the best of buds, experimenting with and testing their newly discovered powers, preparing to join other Mutants to prevent Armageddon. X-Men: First Class documents their nasty break-up. They could not be "just friends.""Although the men allegedly star in X-Men: First Class, the so-called "supporting actresses" threaten to steal the show. January Jones of "Madmen" fame plays Emma Frost, villainesse supreme, co-conspirator with Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, criminal mastermind. More notably, Jennifer Lawrence—yes that Jennifer Lawrence, low-keyed "It Girl" from Winter's Bone and the Oscars' red carpet—plays Mystique, aka Raven Darkholme, shape-shifting mutant. By film's end, girl power may trump super-powers.
