Life of Pi, directed by Ang Lee and based on the Booker award-winning novel of Yann Martel, which was rewritten by David Magee for the movie, telling as a story about Indian boy survived shipwreck alongside with hyena, orangutan, a wounded zebra and a beautiful White Bengal tiger. Yann Martel have explored and studied lots of facts about an ocean life to give credence to story. That's why, despite the unbelievable storyline, the situations and solutions described in the movie could really take place in real life. The boy named Pi was raised in Indian family owning a zoo. At one day they decided to migrate in Canada with all of their animals and boarded the Japanese freighter. Soon after the leaving India, a shipwreck has killed all the people and animals except for little boy and four animals including furious tiger. All of them take a shelter on one small lifeboat. The boy has managed to survive in this uneasy situation for 227 days. A strong will to overcome the deadly perils, a faith in life and inexhaustible optimism leaded him to long journey adrift by the Pacific Ocean. The journey fortunately ends when their boat reaches the Mexico coast. The tiger (named Richard Parker, by the way) escapes to the nearest jungle, leaving the boy alone. Years after, Japanese Maritime officers interviews Pi in order to investigate the circumstances and consequences of shipwreck. Pi tells him as story about his peregrination, but no one believes him. Pi, feeling the lack of confidence, tells them another version of his wandering, without animals, instead of which a sailor, a cook and his mother act. In this butcherly version a cook kills a sailor and Pi's mother to use them as bait and food. After he tells the second story, Pi asks Japanese officers which of two versions they like most. When he gets the answer, confirming that story with animals is better, Pi says "…and so it goes with God".

The Last Legion is a much predicable movie: it fills a storyline gap between the Roman Empire and the legend of King Arthur, logically linking them, showing the continuity and integrity of both history and story. Especially by a remarkable way of the sword Excalibur, forged from iron ore from a meteorite fallen on Earth. So this movie should appear sooner or later, due the lack of original stories every unoccupied niche certainly is filled. Thus, the source is good. What do we have as a result? The film is not historical, but "based on" - however, it does not a bug, but only a feature, since not all because movies of the past must be strictly historical. Although significant fact: "Pirates of the Caribbean" can be easily forgiven of the almost complete lack of connection with history, but for "The Last Legion" it is the main disadvantage from the critics point of view… kind of weird logic.

In this competition of two quite similar films Antoine Fuqua has some advantage expressed in brilliant actors cast. The main hero Mike Banning is played Gerard Butler. You may know him as George in Playing for Keeps or Frosty Hesson in Chasing Mavericks. Another remarkable movie Gerard Butler starred at is Coriolanus. Some of us may remember 300 where Gerard Butler played King Leonidas. As for President Benjamin Asher, Aaron Eckhart (Rabbit Hole, Love Happens, The Dark Knight) secured this role in 2012. Morgan Freeman also stars in the movie as Speaker Trumbull, a man behind the curtain, who took the power when the President was kidnapped.

The Long Kiss Goodnight is a 1996 American action thriller film directed by Renny Harlin and starring Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson. However, it takes one Nicolas Cage teamed up with beautiful and sexy Malin Akerman to prove otherwise. That's a briefly represented storyline of Simon West's action thriller Stolen filmed and realized in 2012. The movie centers on Will Montgomery (Nicolas Cage), an unlucky thief, who is sentenced in jail for 10 years being caught on robbery, went awry. His criminal partners are very interested in ten millions of dollars which they believe Will concealed after the last job. To make Will convinced that he owes this money to his friend, they've kidnapped his daughter upon Will's release from prison. In order to secure their goals, gangsters have locked the girl (Sami Gayle) in cab's soundproof trunk somewhere in the midst of Mardi Gras making her impossible to find. .. for anyone, but not for Nicolas Cage. The problem is that Will doesn't have ten millions USD. Furthermore FBI Investigator (Kyle Russell Clements) and FBI Surveillance Agent (Mustafa Harris) are scouring the trails of key characters of this affair.

Sucker Punch movie makes five girls the somewhat reluctant heroines of an epic action fantasy drawn from the main character's imagination. Baby-Doll has been wrongly confined in a mental institution, but she uses her powers of mind to escape her grim circumstances. When her dreams and fantasies no longer console her, Baby-Doll persuades four other girls to join in her attempt to escape captivity. Wiseman, however, gives sage guidance, always suggesting that if the girls survive, their journey will set them free. Co-director Deborah Snyder brings the flight of fantasy back down to earth, saying, "In the end, it's about this girl's survival and what she needs to do to be able to cope."
