A Good Day to Die Hard is the fifth installation of Die Hard franchise with Bruce Willis in leading role. The movie revolves around McClane's son who finds himself in troubles in Russia and his father who immediately hits the road to rescue the son from these troubles. But, as it happens, these troubles are just a top of the iceberg, the main troubles are ahead. When McClane steps on the Russia ground he realizes that it was the twisted plot implemented by Russian terrorists to get him caught upon the arrival. However, the situation is not so simple. Russian special forces are standing behind this turmoil have their own plans and McClane's capturing is just a part of these plans. This part, however turns to be unexpectedly hard one… which mean that explosions, endless alternating of action scenes, shotgun fire, detonating buildings and agonizing bad guys (all that stuff that we like so much in Die Hard franchise) are just a question of time. May be the plot is too classic and happy end is too predictable as well, but this is some kind of proven formula that works too good to be replaced with something else. Another "sweet" thing in the movie is Russian antagonist: Irina, a role performed by Juliya Snigir. And, if you wonder why this thing "sweet", you seem to be clueless who Juliya Snigir is – if so, just google her in Google Images with "Safe mode Off" – to learn what it does it mean.

The 2011 movie Red State may sound like a political thriller but it's far from that! You see there is this religious cult called the Five Points Church, led by a fanatical preacher Abin Cooper that protests at funerals (no not that group) and have recently been under investigation by the ATF for suspicious activity. The funerals are primarily for gay individuals who have been murdered locally, leading the local sheriff to investigate the leader of this highly controversial religious clan as a possible suspect. Preacher Cooper (played by Michael Parks from Then Came Bronson, From Dusk Till Dawn) and his wife Sarah (played ably by Melissa Leo from Homicide: Life on the Streets, Righteous Kill) seem to get their kicks from trapping, then executing young men, particularly those who appear to be gay. While Sarah Cooper lures the young men with promises of sexual favors, the couple then entraps them and ties them onto a cross with plastic wrap. The targets for their insane games are easily found on internet chat rooms and once they are murdered there will be funerals to which the preacher Cooper will delight in protesting! Business is good at the Five Points Church. Also starring are John Goodman, Stephen Root, and Kevin Pollak.

The movie is solely based on Lee Child's series of novels about the giant military professional Jack Reacher. In the Christopher McQuarrie's movie Jack is portrayed by Tom Cruise. Although Cruise is not as tall as Jack Reacher described in Lee Child's books, he manages the role in very persuasive way. Furthermore, Tom looks perfectly adequate for the role of Reacher, mostly because we are to accustomed to his previous roles as special agents or military professionals in the movies like Valkyrie, Knight and Day, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

It should come as no surprise that if something is financially successful it will be repeated. That is especially true with feature films.
