Some futuristic story ideas seem to paint a rather bleak picture of how life may be later on and The Hunger Games is right up there with the premise that we could hold lotteries each year to select competitors from youngsters. Seems that North America has become a divided country and now there is only the Capitol which is broken down into 12 districts. Now called Panem, the former United States of America makes many crucial decisions by way of an annual fight to the death. There will be two from each of the 12 districts so the total of 24 participants must fight each other to the death and the citizens find this required viewing on live television!hen 16 year old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence from Medium, The Bill Engvall Show) volunteers to take her younger sisters place, she and Peeta Mellark, who is her counterpart find they are up against far bigger and stronger competitors who have been trained for this type of battle all of their lives. Peeta is played by Josh Hutcherson (RV, The Kids Are All Right). Look for Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, and Donald Sutherland also in The Hunger Games.

Eagle Eye is a movie that was released in 2008 and stars Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan. The movie follows two strangers, Jerry and Rachel, who are forced to follow a series of dangerous tasks by an unknown woman who has taken control of their lives through their cell phones and other technology. As they race against time to complete these tasks, they begin to uncover a conspiracy that threatens their lives and the safety of the entire country.

The Last Legion is a much predicable movie: it fills a storyline gap between the Roman Empire and the legend of King Arthur, logically linking them, showing the continuity and integrity of both history and story. Especially by a remarkable way of the sword Excalibur, forged from iron ore from a meteorite fallen on Earth. So this movie should appear sooner or later, due the lack of original stories every unoccupied niche certainly is filled. Thus, the source is good. What do we have as a result? The film is not historical, but "based on" - however, it does not a bug, but only a feature, since not all because movies of the past must be strictly historical. Although significant fact: "Pirates of the Caribbean" can be easily forgiven of the almost complete lack of connection with history, but for "The Last Legion" it is the main disadvantage from the critics point of view… kind of weird logic.

Stupid, fun and very cool - that's all you can say about the "Expendables" of the 2010 on the merits. Sylvester Stallone made a perfect action movie of 80's. More precisely, it is just another perfect fighting film stuffed with all the things: dictatorship, the drug business, a beauty, a lot of bad guys, some cool guys, kick ass. The trick is how to kick… Stallone, of course, chooses the good old style 80's. Very vigorously after endless ballet pas with slaps those exchanging modern world virtual subtle characters of the newest generation of flying across the screen in the manner of grasshoppers. "The Expendables" movie stands firmly on its feet…

This happens because your mind and perception accelerates and runs in ten times faster making everything in front of you moving slowly, that's why the stuff was named SLO-MO. The woman standing behind the invention and distributing the drug, Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) is going to take control over the entire Mega-City One making the whole its population addicted to her new invention. In this near the state of war situation, two cops (or how they are called in future, Judges) one veteran Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) and one newbie Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) tries to stop Ma-Ma before her dream to gain the control over the city population will come true. In post-apocalyptic future, where traditional principles of judgment are forceless, Judges are endowed with the power to capture, arrest, judge and execute any criminal they encounter. Sometimes all these actions take no more than a second between arrest and execution.
