Teamed up with a young agent with the FBI Ben Geary (Topher Grace from Take Me Home Tonight, Predators) who has studied Shepherdson and his career for a Master Thesis and seems to know the man as well as anyone could. When the grizzly story winds up in the local newspapers Poe finds himself being questioned by local cops who wonder why a murderer is using the author's ideas to kill. When Fields discovers the murders mirror stories that have been showing up in the newspapers and are among a series of stories written by Poe, he is first suspicious of the writer but then finds another similar murder has happened even as the writer is held by police.ohn Cusack (Con Air, Pushing Tin) plays the part of Edgar Allen Poe in his last days, Police Inspector Emmett Fields is played by Luke Evans (The Three Musketeers, Immortals) who asks the famous Poe for his help in solving the murders and catching the killer before more are killed. "Cold Pursuit" is a 2019 action thriller film directed by Hans Petter Moland. The movie is a remake of Moland's 2014 Norwegian film "In Order of Disappearance". The story follows Nels Coxman, played by Liam Neeson, who seeks revenge against a drug cartel that killed his son. The film also stars Tom Bateman, Tom Jackson, Emmy Rossum, and Laura Dern.

A murder ring, consisting of four Southern Australian men, were convicted of murdering at least twelve people between 1991 and 1999. They used knives, rope, as well as a double barreled shotgun to kill then sawed some bodies up, stuffed them into barrels and added acid to dissolve the evidence. It's difficult to imagine a more heinous group of humans who tortured and then killed others for their social security and pension money or simply because they didn't like their way of life. Some of the victims were apparently gay or obese or even drug users and were known by their murderers. Most of the bodies were stored in an old bank building in Snowtown and a few more were found buried in a Salibury North backyard. John Justin Bunting, a psychopathic killer, was the apparent leader of the group and has been sentenced to multiple life terms. The other members of the "death squad" include Robert Joe Wagner who allowed Bunting to talk him into participating in the murder spree. Also Mark Ray Haydon, who helped dispose of the bodies and James Spyridon Vlassakis who, along with his half brother and his mother, were found guilty of torturing and murdering several of the victims. The film is made even more gruesome by the fact it is based on fact!
