With a stellar cast and direction by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, American Gangster) this science fiction film takes the audience on a trip with the spaceship's crew of the late 21st century to find the origin of humanity as we know it. The civilization of an advanced extra terrestrial race is the subject of interest that this team of scientists and archeologists investigates when they reach a distant planet. s a tribute or just to emulate the scene from Alien the crew are in suspended animation and have been for the past five years before Mudow (Kate Dickie from The Harvest, He Kills Coppers) a first officer rehabilitates the crew members physically. Ridley Scott himself said that Prometheus shares some "strands of DNA" with Alien but is another story entirely. oomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Beyond) stars as Elizabeth Shaw who is a scientist and archeologist who becomes somewhat of a warrior during the film. Other crewmembers include David (Michael Fassbender from Inglorious Bastards, Blood Creek), Guy Pearce (The King's Speech, The Hurt Locker) is Stannison, and Charlize Theron (Sleepwalking, The Italian Job) plays the part of Meeredith Vickers, corporate figurehead who is "somewhat of a villain" who slowly changes her skin throughout the film. Prometheus is a totally engrossing film from start to end.

"Cats" is a 2019 British-American musical film, directed by Tom Hooper and based on the musical of the same name by Andrew Lloyd Webber, which in turn was based on T.S. Eliot's 1939 poetry collection "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats". Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Last Airbender) filmed by Columbia Pictures in 2012 this movie hits the screens in 2013. After Earth follows an exciting story written by Gary Whitta about a father and a son survived a starship crash on a distant inhabited planet. Cypher Raige is a recognized hero of many wars, a legendary general who heads his spacecraft to the distant realms, convoying recently captured fierce alien creature. He travels with his son, Kitai Raige, inexperienced 13-years-old boy who gets his initial knowledge about space voyages. Unfortunately, a technical malfunction triggers a chain of events that lead to emergency landing on hostile planet. The only hope for deathly injured father and his son is to find and activate SOS beacon before Cypher Raige dies. Bad news: their radars indicate that the beacon is located on the other side of the planet and ocean of impassable jungles infested with bloodthirsty animals and furious alien that escaped the spaceship during the crash are the only obstacle between 13-years old Kitai and the hope to save their lives. Seriously wounded Cypher can't move, but he tries to help his son to overcome the fear by couching him distantly. The only thing is left at his disposal is to convince Kitai, that in contradistinction to dreadful monsters his fear is not real. That means that Kitai has to forget the fear and concentrate on the real dangers: ravenous creatures and virulent environment of the hostile planet. By the way it's Earth. Yes, it's our home planet that was abandoned by humans almost 1000 years ago due to the catastrophic event that wiped out majority of the species. Since that time new kinds of giant animal took the place of extincted ones and now they dominate the Earth. It's strange and suspicious that we know so much about the movie's story, taking in consideration that After Earth was directed by M. Night Shyamalan, so you have to expect some unpredictable plot twists. Another fact to enjoy is the ensemble cast: there are two leading characters - the father and the son, and they are the real father and son Will and Jaden Smith. Yes, this is the Will Smith (Men in Black franchise, Wild Wild West and I, Legend) and his son Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid, The Day the Earth Stood Still).

Do not misread the connotations in the title X-Men: First Class. January Jones of "Madmen" fame plays Emma Frost, villainesse supreme, co-conspirator with Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, criminal mastermind. More notably, Jennifer Lawrence—yes that Jennifer Lawrence, low-keyed "It Girl" from Winter's Bone and the Oscars' red carpet—plays Mystique, aka Raven Darkholme, shape-shifting mutant. By film's end, girl power may trump super-powers.

And, here it is – Warner Bros attempts to bring brand new hit to young adult audience with film adaptation of Kami Garcia's and Margaret Stohl's Beautiful Creatures, a young adult novel which has gotten some very rave reviews in 2009 when it was published by Little, Brown, and Company. So, WB hopes to put a beginning of new money making movie series, by not only taking the very promising book as a storyline but gathering most talented actors to star in the new film. The main protagonist Ethan Wate is portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich, who was "discovered" by Stiven Spielberg and starred in Melanie Shaw's Running Wild and Chan-wook Park's Stoker at the time of Beautiful Creatures release. His character Ethan tries to escape a boring reality of a teenager living in the dead end of the small town. At one day Ethan awakes after a recurring dream about unknown girl. He listens a creepy-hypnotic song called Sixteen Moons on his iPad then smelsl a quite surprising aroma of rosemary and lemon coming from nowhere and goes to school to know that there is a new girl in his class. Meanwhile, returning home he almost runs over this new girl standing in the middle of the road. He hears the familiar Sixteen Moons playing in her car and smells and notes of rosemary and lemon from her hair. Soon, he learns that this new girl is a kind of sorceress, a Caster, and his dream somehow connected with the destiny of this girl. Her name is Lena (Alice Englert) and she is about her sixteen birthday when she has to decide which part of magic force she belongs: Light or Dark.
