Ben 10: Race Against Time is a live-action television movie based on the animated series, Ben 10. The film was directed by Alex Winter and premiered on Cartoon Network in 2007. It follows the story of Ben Tennyson, a teenager who can transform into various alien creatures with the help of a powerful device called the Omnitrix.

Superheroes are popular and abundant in comic books. Now we find many of them making it onto the big screens, followed up by DVD release for home entertainment. Just as Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor have made a big splash in the live action arena, The Avengers looks to be a big hit and huge money maker for its distributor Walt Disney Pictures. "Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson from Pulp Fiction, Iron Man) is director of S.H.I.E.L.D., an agency for international peacekeeping. When an unexpected enemy threatens global security and safety Fury decides to call on a team of superheroes to save the world. Among his choices are Iron Man Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey, Jr. from Iron Man, Tropic Thunder), the reclusive billionaire industrialist who invents a mechanical suit of armor. Also summoned are Captain America Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans from Captain America: The First Avenger) who's experiments with serums led to his super human physicality, and Dr. Bruce Banner who is the Hulk. Played by Mark Ruffalo from Shutter Island, The Kids Are All Right) the Hulk is somewhat of a "loose cannon" making the other team members leery of his participation. Rounding out the dream team of Avengers is Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth from 2009's Star Trek and A Perfect Getaway) Norse's God of Thunder.

In a more sophisticated "golden age" when American public schools actually taught people to read, Hollywood made movies from literature—Grapes of Wrath, for example, or To Have and Have Not. According to Oliver Stone, in the 1990s, film became the literature of the age. In 2011, driven by a fetish for "CG integration," Hollywood adopted the comic book as its model of choice. Not "the graphic novel," which has a slightly more elevated ring to it. No. The comic book. "Comic book novices may have difficulty differentiating their Green super-heroes: The Green Lantern does not attract The Green Hornet as moth to flame. Green Lantern may, however, attract almost as many teen girls as teen geeks, because it features Ryan Reynolds, People Magazine's sexiest man, archetype of "obscenely cut" abs. Critics already have remarked and documented strong similarities between Green Lantern and the IronMan series. Given its comic book origins, you know how Green Lantern goes: Cocky gonna-be super-hero must grow into and take responsibility for his super-powers. He becomes part of an inter-galactic super-squadron charged to protect and serve the universe. Of course, hard-rockin' soundtrack and jaw-droppingly attractive women, both good and evil, accompany him wherever he goes. "After summer's spate of cartoon movies, literate viewers may wax nostalgic for Hemingway in collaboration with Bogart and Steinbeck inspiring Henry Fonda.

Tommy Wirkola's Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters storyline is set the fifteen years after the events described in Brothers' Grimm book "Hansel and Gretel" which was written in 1812. The story of Grimm's characters, two siblings Hansel and Gretel, is well known around the world. Two children were left deep in the forest by their merciless father and stepmother provoked him to do such a horrible thing. After the days of wandering and starving, siblings have encountered a strange house built of gingerbreads, cakes and caramel. Hungry children began to eat the house walls when "very old woman" came out of house and greeted poor children, welcoming them to enter her abode, promising to feed them and give them a rest in soft and clean beds. The reality was that "very old woman" was nothing more than a ordinary witch willing to cook and eat Hansel and Gretel. However, smart siblings recognize her true intentions and happily escape home outwitting the old with by luring her into the oven. Besides this, they have stolen most of her gold, making them and their father incredibly rich (thanks to God their evil stepmother were dead by unknown reason by this time.) Coming back to the movie, after the fifteen years Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) became the professional witch hunters equipped by the last word of modern warfare industry of those times: pneumatic shotguns, arbalests etc. The nice pair was hired by the Mayor of Augsburg to track down and slay the most powerful witches of that region. This easy at the first look task, is going to be much more complicated as the local Sheriff, named Berringer (Peter Stormare), steps into this business. The movie is colorful by all the meanings: the horror, action, black humor and awesome witches are united in one watchworthy story – what could be better? As per witches, they are really great. Just imagine Monique Ganderton, Joanna Kulig, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Zoe Bell as the 3D-enchanced furiously powerful godless creatures and Renner with Arterton exterminating them. Huh?

Captain America: The First Avenger will not be just another one of those "ripped from the comics" movies that have become a 2011 Hollywood staple. No way. "Captain America himself looks remarkably fit for a super-hero who celebrated his seventieth birthday in 2011, and his box office prospects are remarkably sanguine, too. For all those years, Captain America consistently has ranked well-up the list of popular comic characters. Therefore, producers, writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, all the grips, and even the craft services crew understand they have their hands full as they make Captain America: The First Avenger. Their main character is, after all, revered as the United States' bravest, noblest, most-selfless, and greatest hundred-and-one percent hero…ever. "Captain America: The First Avenger tells the story from the beginning. Our hero, Steve Rogers, is rejected for service in World War II—very highly motivated but sadly unfit physically. Determined to serve, Rogers volunteers for "Project: Rebirth," a super-secret project that gives him the ultimate make-over, making him a super-soldier. The brass dub him "Captain America" upon his completion of training. Teaming-up with intrepid sidekick Bucky Barnes, "The First Avenger" kicks some serious Nazi butt as he fights "Red Skull," director of advanced weaponry for the Reich. Well-funded, well cast, well-scripted, Captain America: The First Avenger promises to kick some serious box office butt in the summer of 2011, putting all those other comic movies to shame.
