The original fairy tale story titled Little Red Riding Hood was a cautionary tale filled with darkness and scary wolves but seemed mild compared to this up-dated version. Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and with a stellar cast including: Amanda Seyfried (Big Love, Mama Mia), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight, Planet 51), Julie Christie (Glorious 39, Finding Neverland) and Billy Burke (Twilight, Fringe). Valerie is our Red Riding Hood who lives in a medieval village where a werewolf stalks its prey. She falls in love with a woodcutter who is beneath her as far as her parents are concerned. They had planned on her marrying into wealth and comfort with Henry (Max Irons) but she defies them. "When Valerie's sister is killed by the werewolf the town asks a famous "werewolf hunter" (Oldman) in to destroy the monster they've feared for decades. How can this beast be found when it takes on human form in daylight and could be among them at any time? Now the death toll will rise with each passing full moon."

Upon her return from college Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan has a new and much more open mindedness to her philosophy in life. She wants to be a writer and takes on the task of getting the local black women, long considered the hired help in their Deep South area, to open up and talk of their lives and ambitions. This is a bad time and worse part of the country to attempt this but Skeeter is determined. At first the black women refuse to speak but then one and another speak up. New friendships will be forged and the times are changing for both races in this heartfelt Walt Disney Picture. mma Stone (Zombieland, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) is Skeeter Phelan, the intrepid writer. Sissy Spacek (Coal Miner's Daughter, Carrie) plays the Missus Walters, Aibileen (played by Viola Davis from Eat, Pray, Love) is the first to begin speaking with the writer. And Aunjanue Ellis (The Good Wife, Motherhood) is Yule Mae Davis who also opens up with her story of life as one of "The Help" in the deep south of the 1960's. And they have a lot to say.

"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is a classic film that tells the story of Randle McMurphy, a rebellious inmate who fakes insanity to avoid prison and ends up in a mental institution. The film explores themes of institutionalization, rebellion, and the power struggle between the patients and the staff.

Platoon is a 1986 war film directed by Oliver Stone, which depicts the experiences of a young US Army volunteer, Chris Taylor, during the Vietnam War. The movie explores the brutality and psychological toll of combat, as well as the moral ambiguities of the conflict. The cast includes Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, and Willem Dafoe.

Choreography, writing, acting, attitude, and some knowledge of the martial arts can make for an entertaining movie such as we find in the 2011 release of Warrior. Most "sports" related movies are too predictable and technical to make them entertaining enough to please a wide audience but this one covers nearly all the bases to make it a family oriented film. Even the addition of Nick Nolte as the father of a young man training for a mixed martial arts competitive tournament brings plenty of pathos and family values to the film. Nolte is a former boxer and an alcoholic whose two sons, played by Tom Hardy (Tom Conlon) and Joel Edgerton (playing Brendan Conlon) decide to become professional mixed martial arts fighters and ultimately compete against each other. Nolte (as Paddy Conlon) has his hands full with his own demons but tries to be of help for the sake of family ties. Also starring Jennifer Morrison (playing Tess Conlon), William Mapother (David Milligan), and Kurt Angle (as Koba) Warrior is filled with action and great fight sequences.

Referencing the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001 and how devastated a young boy was over the death of his beloved father on that day, we find that nine year old Oskar still suffers deeply. This is an unusual youngster due to his many interests and talents. He is a jewelry designer, an amateur inventor, a tambourine playing musician, computer consultant, and loves astrophysics, as well as a pacifist who is in search of a lock, somewhere in New York. The mysterious key was left behind when his father perished on that fateful day. hile it seems somewhat far fetched that this small boy is out wandering the mean streets of New York City all by himself, at all hours of day or night, but we learn his mother is apparently off in a world all her own since the tragedy that befell their family. Oskar befriends older women that are closer to his mother's age and flatters them while trying to kiss them! But the lad is on a mission and determined to find what the key fits.rom a novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close stars Thomas Horn, a Teen Jeopardy winner. His father is played by Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Big) and mother's part played by Sandra Bullock (Speed, The Blind Side). Thoroughly entertaining and very thought provoking film.
