"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" is a fantasy movie based on the novel of the same name by J.R.R. Tolkien. It was released in 2001 and directed by Peter Jackson. The movie follows the journey of Frodo Baggins, a hobbit who inherits a powerful ring that was created by the evil lord Sauron. Frodo sets out on a quest to destroy the ring and stop Sauron from taking over the world.

With an invasion from somewhere from outer space in progress, we humans find ourselves being taken over, one by one, by some form of alien beings. While they invade our planet and take over the minds of everyone they come into contact with a few manage to remain "wild and free". Melanie Stryder, played by Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Lovely Bones) attempts to hold out but succumbs to an alien named Wanderer. Wanderer has been warned about possession of human bodies and the consequences involved such as mood changes, vivid memories from that human's past life, and an entire gamut of emotions they have never experienced where they came from. When Melanie refuses to yield her mind to the alien they struggle for what may be the last remaining human being on planet Earth.lso starring William Hurt (The Big Chill, Kiss of the Spider Woman) as Melanie's eccentric uncle Jebediah Stryder, Diane Kruger (National Treasure, Inhale) is one of the mind stealing alien "souls", and Jake Abel (I Am Number Four, The Lovely Bones) is a rebellious human who wants to kill the aliens as quickly as he can find them.

Movie sequels generally bring back the original cast for yet another series of conflicts and G.I. Joe: Retaliation is no different with the exception of the writers. This sequel is penned by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese and Jon Chu replaces Stephen Sommers in the director's chair. Bruce Willis (Pulp Fiction, Die Hard series) is back as General "G.I. Joe" Joseph Colton, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (The Other Guys) now plays Roadblock, Channing Tatum (The Dilemma, Ten Year) returns as Duke, and Adrianne Palicki (Women in Trouble, Pop Star) joins in to portray Lady Jaye. s in the first film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra from 2009, the sci fi flick is based on the original G.I. Joe toys and comic books many grew up enjoying for generations. Plenty of fast action, shooting, and mayhem will keep audiences of all ages on the edge of their seats. The first film grossed well over $300 million world wide so this one is expected to do at least as well. Even though critics were negative about the first one, the audiences came back again and again to watch the action packed movie.

Stardust is a 2007 romantic fantasy adventure film based on the 1999 novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman. The story is about a young man named Tristan who lives in a village near a magical wall that separates the human world from the mystical realm of Stormhold. One day, he promises to bring a falling star to his beloved, Victoria, in exchange for her hand in marriage. He crosses the wall and finds that the star is a woman named Yvaine. They embark on a journey together to bring Yvaine back to the village, but they encounter many obstacles along the way, including witches, pirates, and princes who are all after the star's magical powers.

Glory of the pioneers, crowned with laurel, is calling on the exploits of new generation of adventurers into the fathomless depths of universe. In the prologue, the film Captain Kirk gets into a space hopper, which shifted the concept of time. "After seventy-five descendants of star travelers stumble upon this same cup and face a madman - a destroyer, rushing about the stellar tracks in search of immortality. Captain Picard abandons his own immortality for the sake of future generations and enters into mortal combat with a madman.

Written by John Landis and his son, Max, Chronicle takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of adventure as we watch three teenaged boys who learn they are developing superpowers after exposure to some mysterious substances while walking through the woods nearby their homes. Typical of many teenagers these boys find they have a rather dark side to their personalities when their strange and powerful new capabilities become increasingly strong. They each must decide how best to handle their powers and while impressive, they can also be dangerous to themselves and others. ohn Landis is well known as director of such fun and entertaining movies as Animal House and American Werewolf in London and now teams up with his son, Max to come up with this delightful film. Shot in a pretend documentary style, and using hand held cameras (think Blair Witch Project), Chronicle is entertaining and enlightening.tars Michael B.
