(500) Days of Summer is not just a romantic comedy, it is what it should be, ideally, the unusual, even eccentric, and at the same time, air light. Moreover, this is a perfect romantic comedy of its time. It does not bore by a linear narrative, does not read the morals, and does not buried in the slop. Of course, we can say that the cartoon bird, The Graduate movie and The Seventh Seal parody is a somewhat wild combination, but generally it works in the film, the main idea of which is that "weather has no bad weather."

Everything looks fine and her life is passing in calm and friendly neighborhood, but as soon as film scenes go, we notice that Katie has to cope with some problems originating from her shady past. It comes absolutely clear that something was wrong in her "previous life" when a local store owner Alex Wheatley tries to build relationships with her. Katie withdraws into herself, although it becomes clear that she has similar feeling towards Alex. Why she keep her heart locked for a new love? It's a question that could be answered by some mysterious events living in Katie's past. The situation becomes more unstable when another man, Jo with enters her live with that sort of feelings. Now, Katie is faced some though choice, a widowed ex-army-mayor, Alex, a local dreamboat, Jo, and staying alone one-on-one with her past. Mostly targeted in woman audience, Safe Haven features not only typical Sparks' signature plot, but quite a decent ensemble cast: Katie Feldman is played by cute Julianne Hough (Sherrie Christian from Rock of Ages , Ariel from Footloose, and Georgia Burlesque), while Josh Duhamel portrays Alex Wheatley. We know Josh for his roles of Jeremy Coleman in Fire with Fire and Captain William Lennox in Transformers franchise.

Empire of Light is a romantic drama movie set in a British coastal town in the early 1980s. The film, directed, written, and co-produced by Sam Mendes, focuses on the power of human connection during difficult times. You're definitely a person who knows what Garry Marshall wants - the director who knows what you need, and the whole bed with the cute celebrities is ready to bloom with all its might - just for your eyes. And everything would have been quite simply disastrously cute, if it were not Julia Roberts. For the most part she was silent, sometimes smiling, laughing once. And all this salad from the stars, from which a little bit more and you got the diathesis, somehow fades into the background and the movie appears a single note, very quiet and gentle, an almost inaudible reminder that romantic comedy is the most likely humane genre.
