The Witcher Season 4 marks a new era for Netflix's flagship fantasy epic, with Liam Hemsworth stepping into the armor of Geralt of Rivia in place of Henry Cavill, who played the monster hunter across the first three seasons. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's beloved novels and the blockbuster video-game franchise, the series continues its story of a witcher, a princess and a sorceress bound together by destiny across a war-torn Continent.
Picking up after the events that scattered its central trio, the fourth season follows Geralt as he assembles an unlikely found family of companions while searching for Ciri (Freya Allan), who has fallen in with a band of outlaws. Anya Chalotra returns as Yennefer, and the ensemble expands with heavyweight additions including Laurence Fishburne as the vampire barber-surgeon Regis, Sharlto Copley as the bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, and James Purefoy as the sinister Skellen.
Released on October 30, 2025, the season adapts material from Sapkowski's later novels and was filmed back-to-back with the upcoming fifth and final season. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has framed the two-season stretch as a push to bring the saga to an epic and satisfying conclusion, making Season 4 the pivot on which the entire series turns.
