Given the strength of after-broadcast sales, writer-director Joss Whedon persuaded Universal Pictures to produce Serenity, a successful motion picture derived and adapted from his so-called "space-western." The "Firefly" television series also has morphed into graphic novels and a role-playing game. Set in 2517, "Firefly" shows the arrival of humans in a new star system aboard the spaceship "Serenity." Its nine-member ensemble cast represents different cultures and social classes coping with pioneer living on the perimeter of their star system. According to Whedon, "Firefly" dramatizes the lives and views of ""nine people looking into the blackness of space and seeing nine different things." In Whedon's view, "nothing will change in the future: technology will advance, but we will still have the same political, moral, and ethical problems as today."

"The Leftovers" is an American television drama series that aired on HBO from 2014 to 2017. It is based on a novel of the same name by Tom Perrotta. The "amulet" appears to be a real USB data storage, and when we learn that Ben passed it secretly to Aaron just in seconds before the "blackout" it becomes absolutely clear that the USB-drive is somehow connected with the reason of "blackout" and may be a key to restore the electricity in the world.

"Siren" is a supernatural drama series that premiered in March 2018 on Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family) in the United States. The series is set in the fictional coastal town of Bristol Cove, which is known for its legends of mermaids. So, you have ever intent to pass them to official for some cruel test, please, don't do it! Although, the TV show has gained mostly negative receptions from critics, it worth watching for many reasons. First of all it was created by legendary Dan Fogelman, and all the critics negative reviews are just a result of high expectations for these series. The second reason is the ensemble cast: the star of Entourage, Modern Family, Still Standing and ER - Jami Gertz looks natural in the extraterrestrial surrounding of Ningning Deng, Tracy Weisert and Mobin Khan.

Malik Yoba (Defying Gravity, That's So Raven) is Bill Harken, FBI agent with superhuman powers. Rachel Pirzad, formerly with the CIA as a linguist, finds she has abilities to heighten each of her five senses to detect things even by their chemical compound. Rachel is played by Azita Ghanizada (Castle, Friends With Benefits). Laura Mennell (Flight 93, Watchmen) plays Nina Theroux, young woman with the ability to mentally "push" or encourage people around her into doing whatever she wishes.
