The Drop: A Snowfall Saga

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga is an FX drama series set in the world of Snowfall, the acclaimed crime saga about the crack epidemic's grip on 1980s Los Angeles. Picking up around 1990, roughly four years after the events of the parent show, The Drop shifts its focus to the explosion of West Coast hip-hop and the fortunes to be made and lost as the sound reshapes South Los Angeles.

Gail Bean and Isaiah John reprise their Snowfall roles as Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons, trying to build new lives amid the era's opportunity and danger, with Asante Blackk, Peyton Alex Smith, and a deep ensemble filling out the neighborhood around them. Created by Malcolm Spellman — the writer behind Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the FX docuseries Hip Hop Uncovered — the series blends music, ambition, and gang politics into a next-generation chapter of the Snowfall universe.

Premiering September 8, 2026, the eight-episode first season earned strong early reviews for its performances and its authentic feel for the period's music culture. It airs on FX and streams on Hulu.
