Sherlock is a consultant for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and is assisted by Dr. Wato Tachibana, a Japanese doctor who recently returned from Syria. Together, they solve crimes using their unique skills and perspectives. The show was well-received by audiences and critics alike for its fresh take on the classic detective story and its portrayal of strong female characters.
Miss Sherlock was produced as a collaboration between HBO Asia and Hulu Japan, and was broadcast in multiple countries. It was praised for its innovative approach to the source material and for its diverse cast and crew. The series has been noted for its contribution to the representation of women and minorities in the media, and has been lauded as an example of how to successfully adapt classic stories for modern audiences.
