The Chris Rock Show

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is a satirical late-night talk show hosted by British comedian John Oliver. Each episode typically focuses on a single topic and includes a mixture of monologues, interviews, and comedic sketches.

The latest concept in reality television is Same Name which pairs up a "regular guy" with a celebrity who just happens to share the same first and last names. Of course a name like Betty White (at least five in the Boston area alone) is an easy one to match up but how does the well known comedienne compare with someone from the so called normal world? The idea could be interesting if the celeb trades places with the real person and spends some time in their shoes and vice versa. Can Floridian Justin Bieber (they found one in Jacksonville, Florida) sing? In the pilot episode we see a landscaper and electrician from Lake Jackson, Texas with the name of David Hasselhoff trade his life with THE David Hasselhoff, formerly of Baywatch and Knight Rider. Will the Hass electrocute himself? And is Mr. Hasselhoff from Texas better looking? Those who share names with celebrities seldom have anything else in common other than that name thing and it could be humorous observing how difficult it may be for the pampered set to actually work at real jobs.

Watch MTV and the iTunes for episodes of the new hit show Geordie Shore and you will see similarities to the popular Jersey Shore. For one thing the show has its own group of "party hard" individuals who live together in an upscale house, share bedrooms, and each as their own reasons to be there. The Geordie Shore show is a British based program coming from the UK and having decidedly British points of view. The filming of Geordie Shore has been stated to be bordering pornographic due to bare breasts, six packs, fights, and simulated fellatio. Each of these vain individuals have their own reasons to submit to "reality" television. Holly states she is the most realistic "fake" person there is and her size double F chest (paid for by her mom) is a testament to that. Then there is Jay who loves himself too much to get involved with a female on the Geordie Shore show. His idea of a relationship is about him and his workouts at the gym. James, who is only 20, must check himself out each time he passes a mirror. Sophie likes to flash her "boobs" while dancing on table tops. Quite an interesting group!

Each of the wives of these basketball pros have something in common"¦ they have husbands who are high in stature as well as high profile in their lives. Being a celebrity wife is not all that easy as these "wives" can show us. Jealousy in the midst of "reality" television is common and we have seen it ever since the first episodes of Survivor. But these ladies seem to take it to another level with their backbiting and competition involving lifestyles most of us only dream about. Jennifer (Williams) defends her right to put on a new face for the latest season's shows and makes a vow to rise above all of that drama we see on the show. Shaunie (O'Neal) has a rather dramatic turn of events surrounding her latest birthday bash. Meanwhile, Evelyn (Lozada) has her own blog and tries to explain why laughing at Kenya Bell's boring speech is absolutely rude! Suzie (Ketcham) discusses food stamps and comments on her dramatic turn of events with Jennifer (Williams), blaming her attitude on alcohol (not that any of these fine ladies hit the bottle)! Lets hope they keep all this drama in the proper perspective, and the show keeps on fascinating many of us viewers!

Imported in USA from Great Britain, "Undercover Boss TV show" works on a simple, delectably ironic premise: For a week, the CEO of a major American company goes into stealth mode, impersonating a brand new employee at his own company. The bigger the company, the more the premise works, because most rank-and-file workers could not distinguish between photos of their CEOs and headshots of Carl Rove. CEOs typically spend an entire week going from one entry-level position to another. They go in equipped with plausible back-stories and perfectly plausible explanations for the presence of a film crew; the best of them act just as surprised to see the cameras as all of their co-workers. If the work-a-day grind fails to serve-up "organic" drama, the producers stage challenging situations to develop both the action and the bond between boss and worker. At the end of the undercover week, employees learn "the new guy's" true identity, and the boss rewards employees who have done well or refers struggling workers for more training.
