"Firefly" TV show lasted only eleven weeks on the Fox network, but it gained enough loyal followers to sell tons of DVDs. Given the strength of after-broadcast sales, writer-director Joss Whedon persuaded Universal Pictures to produce Serenity, a successful motion picture derived and adapted from his so-called "space-western." The "Firefly" television series also has morphed into graphic novels and a role-playing game. Set in 2517, "Firefly" shows the arrival of humans in a new star system aboard the spaceship "Serenity." Its nine-member ensemble cast represents different cultures and social classes coping with pioneer living on the perimeter of their star system. According to Whedon, "Firefly" dramatizes the lives and views of ""nine people looking into the blackness of space and seeing nine different things." In Whedon's view, "nothing will change in the future: technology will advance, but we will still have the same political, moral, and ethical problems as today."

When you and your family just move into a luxurious gated community, all you have to expect are tranquility, peace and mutual respect of all the neighbors. But, what if "all of the neighbors" are the alien forms of extraterrestrial life, and you and your beloved ones are the only humans in this "society"? What will you do? Claim your real estate agent to cancel the contract? Pass all the extraterrestrials to FBI to conduct the inhumane experiments? No, you will teach them humanity and learn from them how to be a "good family" instead. Exactly as Weaver family does in this weird and sometimes "goofy" television series, The Neighbors centered on their unusual life among the aliens. But don't consider their neighbors some sort of ugly monsters"¦ Oh, yeah, of course they have some green goo ejaculated from ears when they cry, and, of course, they prefer to eat using eyes, not mouth, but they so adorable! So, you have ever intent to pass them to official for some cruel test, please, don't do it! Although, the TV show has gained mostly negative receptions from critics, it worth watching for many reasons. First of all it was created by legendary Dan Fogelman, and all the critics negative reviews are just a result of high expectations for these series. The second reason is the ensemble cast: the star of Entourage, Modern Family, Still Standing and ER - Jami Gertz looks natural in the extraterrestrial surrounding of Ningning Deng, Tracy Weisert and Mobin Khan.

"Stargate Universe TV show" (aka SGU) premiered on Syfy in September, 2009, part of a larger Stargate franchise, which has a production history at least as complicated as the plots of all the Star Treks combined. The immediate success of "Stargate Universe" provides the living proof that the ComicCon crowd never tires of going boldly where no man has gone before. The situation is more than a little reminiscent of "Battlestar Gallactica," but edgier and richer in good one-liners. This time, a group of intrepid explorers whose own ship has been disabled boards a crewless ship permanently locked on cruise control and set to go to the ends of the universe. Because they have no hope of returning to Earth, the eclectic crew of scientists, soldiers, and civilians must figure out how they will survive by their wits and the ship's tools as they float around the edges of the galaxy. Of course, the struggle for survival brings out the noblest qualities in the heroes, the vilest qualities in the villains, and hundreds of opportunities for uber-cool special effects.

Before "Twilight" beguiled a billion teen-age hearts and "True Blood" took over Louisiana and Sunday night ratings, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" rescued seriously besieged Sunnydale, California, from werewolves, vampires, zombies, and random undead. Created by uber-vamp writer-producer Joss Whedon, who felt profoundly disappointed with the film version of his original premise, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" helped the fledgling WB network hold its own against "the big 4," and it made Sarah Michlelle Gellar a tween and teen icon. In each episode, Buffy and her posse of slayers known as "the Scooby gang," follow sage advice from The Watcher as they banish fearful creatures from their otherwise peaceful and perfect suburb. Whedon insisted, "The supernatural elements in the series stood as metaphors personal anxieties associated with adolescence and young adulthood." Whedon's allegories may have been lost under cute teen fashions, but the dramas' substance attracted critics' attention, earning the show 3 Emmy Awards and a tribute show from the Television Academy when it left the air in 2003.

Dubbed a combination of mystery, crime drama, and American fantasy show, Grimm comes to home (not so small) screens on Friday evenings filled with dark twists and turns including some familiar fairy tale characters from the legendary Grimm's Fairy Tales we all grew up listening to or reading. There are familiar "bad guys" such as the Big Bad Wolf and many new ones that can be equally frightening if only to the younger set. Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli from Nip/Tuck, Veronica Mars) is a descendant from the Grimm line of hunters who is a homicide detective by day and fights supernatural forces on the side. Russell Hornsby (Lincoln Heights, Meet the Parents) is Hank Griffin, Burkhardt's homicide partner, and Juliette Silverton, who is Burkhardt's girlfriend is played by Bitsie Tulloch (Lakeview Terrace, Ring Tone). Eddie Monroe previously was considered to be a Big Bad Wolf but now works with Nick Burkhardt. He is played by Silas Weir Mitchell from Dexter and Monk. Don't confuse Grimm with another show that recently premiered, Once Upon A Time. Grimm will be much darker and have more of an adult theme. Through Burkhardt's eyes we see normal people turn into monsters and no one is safe anymore!

Doctor Who TV Show is a BBC science fiction program which is revolving around a man referred to as "˜the Doctor' who claims to travel to space in what appears to be a blue 1950s police cruiser. However "˜the Doctor' is an alien time traveler that does what no one else has...He goes into outer space to investigate problems and battle mysterious monsters to undo any wrong that has been done. Doctor Who TV Show is the longest running program in the history of the world, because the story keeps on going, even if it is being redone by someone else.
