While on an excursion deep into the Amazon forests Dr Emmet Cole traveled along the Amazon River in search of magic held in the dark recesses of the Amazon. He turned up missing six months ago and now his locating beacon has turned up, giving off signals to help locate it. But when his wife Tess gathers together a crew to seek out the beacon and hopefully, her missing husband, they find their labors useless. Their son Lincoln has his own agenda and is ready to cross his father off as permanently gone. The crew, comprised of new acquaintances and old friends come to realize there is magic in this place and it comes alive when a ghost is unleashed, killing Jed and terrorizing the boat's crew. Starring Bruce Greenwood (Hollywood Homicide, Capote) is Dr. Emmet Cole, his wife Tess is played by Leslie Hope (Teri Bauer wife of Jack Bauer on 24), their son Lincoln is portrayed by Joseph Anderson (The Crazies, Love Happens), and Eloise Mumford previously seen on TV's Lone Star and Crash. Entertaining and filled with lush unfamiliar scenery.

Because "No Ordinary Family" has far more in common with "Swiss Family Robinson" than NBC's Chuck or its flash-in-the-pan "Heroes," it comes as little surprise that this family drama with superpowers comes to life on Disney-property ABC. Culled, of course, from the world of graphic novels, "No Ordinary Family" introduces us to Dad, Mom, and two teenagers beset with the normal collection of post-modern developmental and relational complaints, the youngest boasting the added difficulty of a learning disability. After surviving a light-plane crash in the Amazon, the family returns home to discover their ordeal has invested them with super-powers which seem to compensate precisely for their previous inadequacies. Still in its infancy, "No Ordinary Family" faces an unusual challenge: Can it continue developing the lives and times of a typical Southern California family even as it sets the fearsome foursome in hot pursuit of villains culled from the most frightening pages of graphic novels? If it succeeds, "No Ordinary Family" will have added a twenty-first century dimension to Walt Disney's concept of "the plausible impossible."

Each one hour episode of The Glades, which is filmed in and around the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area and concentrates on a crime that eventually is solved even as we, the viewers, speculate on "who done it" only to be proven wrong at show's end. Very entertaining and always plenty of plot twists to keep us guessing. Detective Jim Longworth is portrayed by Matt Passmore, who may just be the best thing to come out of Australia in quite a while! He has talent, good looks, speaks impeccable American style English, and did I mention is good looking? Passmore has been busy in his native land since attending the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney back in 1999. He moved from Chicago where he was also a cop down to Florida hoping for a more peaceful lifestyle. He is joined by fellow and equally talented cast mates Kiele Sanchez (Samantha Who?, Lost) who plays Callie Cargill, a love interest for Longworth and med student who helps out with solving crimes. Carlos Gomez (Desperado, Fools Rush In) is Dr. Carlos Sanchez a medical examiner who goes along with Longworth as he solves local crimes.

Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks already had saved Private Ryan and had shown the relatively tame exploits of a brotherly band in the Pacific Theater when they bravely took-on the challenge of recreating the bitter, brutal battles that made Pacific Islands household names in the darkest hours of World War II. Most Americans can trace the broad outlines of the Allies' liberation of Europe, but few can recall the highlights of American Marines' fierce struggles over "tiny specks of earth that we have never heard of." HBO's ten-part mini-series, "The Pacific," retrieves the war against Japan from the threshold of obscurity. Based on survivors' accounts of the battles, and rendered as vividly as the small screen will allow, "The Pacific" tracks three Marines' odysseys from Guadalcanal through Cape Gloucester to Peleliu and ultimately to the epic battle for Iwo Jima. Testifying to "The Pacific's" intense realism, the mini-series collected Emmy Awards for Art Direction, visual and sound effects. More amply testifying to "The Pacific's" overwhelming genius and power, however, the Television Academy awarded it the 2010 Emmy for Outstanding Mini-Series.

Would you mind speed-dating in the jungle on self-made rafts sailing down the crocodile-infested river? If you like these adrenaline-stuffed romantic adventures you will probably be hooked by Love in the Wild. However, to say the truth, you will have to sufficiently lower the acceptable level of stupidity, ridiculousness and affectedness. Otherwise you will be a little bit surprised by how this TV show was made. The anticipated symbiosis of The Amazing Race and The Bachelor Pad turned out to be just a bunch of meaningless quests on pseudo-romantic substrate. The only thing that saves this show is the fact that producers seem to be not taking the entire stuff too seriously. For instance, who will take seriously somebody whining about person whining about ants? As for series rules there are lots of advantages to form a loyal couple. Even if you are finishing last, there is a good chance to stay in the game in case if some partners in other couple will broke up and will not find any other contestant to partner with. In this situation they will end up in the Single Area from where they, most likely, will be eliminated. Such breaking ups are happening from time to time just because betrayal could be advantageous too: not because you are falling in love with somebody from the other couple, but on case if last-place couple member will accept a switch request in order to secure staying in the game. In opposite to the actions taking in the show, the rules are only intriguing elements in Love in the Wild. But do not forget the surrounding nature -it's beautiful and, furthermore, it's filmed magnificently. And maybe it's only the advantage saving this dating reality TV show for the next seasons.

Since its debut night back on September 21, 2010, Tuesday night viewing hasn't been quite the same. Detroit 187 brings a gritty realism to television that shows the heroic and positive side of the city that cars built. The program is a crime drama and with its ensemble cast of great actors, explores various 187's (police code for homicides) that occur with frequent regularity in the writer's minds in the Motor City. We, the viewing audience, ride along and explore the people and reasons why murders happen and why they are part of the culture of every big city. Detective Louis Fitch, played by Michael Imperioli, is rather rough around the edges yet as a ten year veteran of the DPD was first a cop with the NYPD, bringing that tough mentality to the Motor City and almost fitting in. Sergeant Jesse Longford (James McDaniel) is a lifelong resident of Detroit whose father was also a police officer. He's tough yet understanding and about to retire. Aisha Hinds is yet another alumni of NYPD Blue and represents a tough as nails black woman who heads up the DPD homicide unit. The entire cast is superb and with good writing Detroit 187 should be around for a good long while.
