Good Boy is a 2025 South Korean action-comedy that aired on JTBC and streamed internationally on Prime Video, directed by Shim Na-yeon, the filmmaker behind Beyond Evil and The Good Bad Mother. Built on a bold, comic-book-style premise, the sixteen-episode series follows a group of decorated former Olympic athletes who trade the medal podium for the police force.
Park Bo-gum stars as Yoon Dong-ju, a gold-medal-winning boxer whose sporting career is derailed, opposite Kim So-hyun as Ji Han-na, a champion markswoman who retired after choking at a decisive moment. Recruited into a special unit of ex-athletes, they turn their extraordinary physical gifts, speed, strength, aim and endurance, against the violent criminals and corrupt power brokers running their city, in a story that mixes bruising action with broad humour and a slow-building romance.
The series was a popular success, with Park Bo-gum topping South Korea's actor buzz rankings for seven straight weeks and the show climbing to number one at home and into Prime Video's global top tier. Praised for its energetic, almost superheroic take on crime-fighting, Good Boy marked a crowd-pleasing return for its star. It is streaming on Prime Video.
