The Lazarus Effect is a 2015 horror film directed by David Gelb and starring Mark Duplass, Olivia Wilde, Donald Glover, Evan Peters, and Sarah Bolger. Frank (Duplass) and his fiancé Zoe (Wilde) and their team of medical researchers have discovered a way to resurrect the dead using a serum which they have given the codename "Lazarus." So far, Zoe and Frank have only tested their research on a lifeless animal, but when Zoe is killed in a lab accident, Frank decides to resurrect her in an unsanctioned experiment with the help of their research team. Zoe returns from the grave with the help of the Lazarus serum, but begins to display uncanny supernatural abilities. The team then realizes that she may not be alone, and they have unleashed a terrible and powerful evil into the world.

To make things done, dybbuk infuses in the human live being, which it ultimately devours at the end. But let's go back to the story, the box and its owner survived the horrors of World War 2, and emigrated to USA, where she died in 2001 and the box were sold to abovementioned Mannis. Finally, he brings this box home and opens it. Inside, he finds strange artifacts: locks of blonde and brunette hairs, dried flower buds, a goblet with remains of wine and the statue with Hebrew word Shalom, engraved on it. Lately he sold the box due to the numerous nightmares he and his wife suffered after the box appeared in their lives. All the later owners of "dybbuk box" have reported about these nightmares and curses that accompanied their lives since they bought the box. This true story has laid in the storyline's foundation of The Possession, the movie released in 2012. The film was directed by Ole Bornedal, and screenplay was written by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick are starring in the movie alongside with Grant Show, Madison Davenport and Natasha Calis. The last one portrays the main character, Em, who apparently becomes possessed by a dybbuk from the box.

The picture tells us about the Reverend Marcus Cotton, who brilliantly preached in church and enjoys popularity among the faithful audience. But it turns out, that Marcus doubts the existence of God. In addition to preaching the good, he earns, and not badly, on the procedures for exorcism. And of course, he does not believe in any demons, and all of his exorcism - is well laid productions with some special effects ... and now the Reverend decides to show the world that in fact there is no demon, but that is only the sick people who need to be treated. To this end, he takes on the case crew of two people to make a documentary. The next thing is to exile alleged demons from 16 years of Nell. "Approximately 60 percent of the movie tells us about religion, the Bible, about the confrontation between good and evil and personal live of Marcus Cotton.
