Airplane! is a 1980 American parody film directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. "Garfield: The Movie" is a live-action adaptation of the popular comic strip about a lazy, sarcastic cat named Garfield. The movie follows Garfield as he tries to save his owner, Jon, from being tricked by an evil television host who wants to take over the world.

Richard Curtis once again attempted to combine several genres and cater to all audiences, without an exception. The Boat That Rocked is sprightly comedy about horny rock propagandists. The movie is complemented by a gentle romantic touch of first love. Then it turns into a melodrama about growing up, finding one's own ego and his father. Then strives to make the step in the direction of a musical with indispensable Nighy dancing. It almost went into the drama: the British government still slightly crossed the line against the disgraced radio. And once again it becomes a comedy. Richard Curtis by doing nothing supernatural managed to go beyond this or that genre, really pleased everyone by this charming and even, "mainstream" movie.

"Gray's Anatomy" is a 1996 experimental film directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film presents the monologue of Spalding Gray, a famous storyteller and actor, who shares his experiences of visiting various alternative medicine practitioners to cure an eye condition known as a macular pucker. The film intercuts Gray's monologue with dramatized reenactments and actual footage of surgeries.

Without Love is a 1945 romantic comedy film directed by Harold S. Bucquet and starring Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. The film is based on the play "Without Love" by Philip Barry. The plot follows the story of Pat Jamieson, a brilliant but eccentric inventor who is working on a project for the war effort during World War II. He rents a room in Jamie Rowan's house, who is a widow with a young daughter. Pat and Jamie soon develop a close friendship but decide that marriage is not for them. They agree to work on a project together, a device to measure atmospheric conditions, which leads to their realization that they have fallen in love with each other.

The super-smart but tragically nerdy kids go to Harvard; the wise-ass geniuses go to Yale. Natalie Portman went to Yale. Therefore, no one should feel at all surprised that Portman can follow a brilliant and breathtaking performance in Black Swan with a charming and lighthearted romp through No Strings Attached. The bitter and brutal ballet movie showed critics and audiences just how smart, sensitive, and psychotic Portman can become when a role demands manic intensity. One critic commented, "She always has been good, but now we know the woman actually can act—except she is so good we forget she is acting." No Strings Attached proves Portman's range, and it satisfies her concern that Hollywood produces far too few "vulgar" comedies for women by women and starring women."No Strings Attached gained director Ivan Reitman's attention when it qualified for the 2009 "Hollywood Blacklist," a studio executive's annual collection of the best scripts that have failed to make the cut at every major studio. The writers pitched No Strings Attached in a single sentence: "A guy and a girl struggle to have an exclusively sexual relationship as they both come to realize they want much more." Although the plot seems painfully thin, irony, sentiment, and humor alloy the script. Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher punctuate and pixelate the post-modern era's answer to Doris Day and Rock Hudson, delivering a sweetly satisfying Valentine's Day confection. Apparently, at Yale, students learn never to take themselves or their obvious brilliance too seriously.
