Description

The Menu is a 2022 dark comedy thriller film directed by Mark Mylod and written by Will Tracy and Seth Reiss. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes, Nicholas Hoult, and John Leguizamo, with supporting roles from Jessica Henwick and Zawe Ashton. It follows a young couple who visit a remote island off the coast of Italy to attend an exclusive, high-end restaurant where the chef has prepared a menu full of surprises.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022, and was released in the United States on November 18, 2022, by Searchlight Pictures. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of the cast and the film's dark humor but criticized its pacing and lack of substance. The film has grossed over $15 million worldwide against a $10 million budget.

The Menu has been compared to the 2019 South Korean film Parasite due to its themes of class warfare and the stark contrast between the wealthy restaurant guests and the working-class staff. The film also explores the lengths people will go to achieve their dreams and the consequences that come with that pursuit. Anya Taylor-Joy's performance as the ambitious sous-chef has received particular praise from critics, with some calling it a standout role in her already impressive career.

Undoubtfully, cinematography has been my passion since a very young age. Even now, watching a new movie or series always prompts me to ask a lot of questions to the author. Thus, every little essay about a title is definitely not a spoiler, but rather an attempt to explore the idea.

The Hangover numbers among those very few movies that can lay legitimate claim to the title "instant classic." As contrived, convoluted, twisted, silly, and slapstick as something woven from the three stooges meeting the Marx brothers, "The Hangover" nevertheless maintained its sincerity and inspired audiences' sympathy for the poor slobs they were watching screw-up at every available opportunity. We call that "comic genius.""Can The Hangover Part II possibly reprise the genius and do justice to the original? As the movie went into post-production, Hangover star Bradley Cooper shared his worries, telling The Los Angeles Times, "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't trepidatious." The el dos, the original characters travel to Bangkok, which Cooper characterized as "Las Vegas on steroids." Stu once again is scheduled for nuptials, and he has pre-empted a bachelor party rerun by scheduling a proper, safe, conservative pre-wedding brunch. Of course, the words "yeah, right" come to mind. The studio says, "What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can't even be imagined.""Cooper assuages his own and the audience's trepidations, claiming, ": "The script was better than the first one. The scope is larger. [Shooting it] went smoother than it did the first time in terms of letting spontaneous moments happen." Devoted fans have their fingers tightly crossed.
