Everly is a 2014 action thriller directed by Joe Lynch, starring Salma Hayek as the titular character. Everly is a prostitute working for the crime lord Taiko (Hiroyuki Watanabe), working secretly to bring down his organization with the help of the police. While trapped inside her apartment, Everly faces off with hired killers and even other prostitutes who have been promised a bounty if they are able to kill her. The film features music by Bear McCreary, who did the soundtrack for the rebooted version of the Battlestar Galactica television series. Lynch originally wrote the story while listening to the soundtrack for the second season of the show. Early reviews of the film have been mixed to positive, and compared to the early Die Hard movies or the blood-spattered epic of Kill Bill. The film plays toward assassin and mafia tropes and offers little in the way of plot, but plenty in the way of action.

So it is up to Jill to fight off the kidnappers and find her sister, all the while she must fight with her nightmares of what happened in the past.acing horrific events from the past is brave yet foolish when there is no help to be found! Jill is determined to save her sister and also clear her mind of the past fears she's lived with these past two years. Also starring Jennifer Carpenter (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Quarantine), Daniel Sunjata (Grey's Anatomy, Rescue Me), Wes Bentley (Dolan's Cadillac, Ghost Rider), and Michael Paré (The Lincoln Lawyer, Eddie & the Cruisers).

George Smiley was a disgrace as a British spy back when the "Cold War" was the world's biggest threat. The mid 20th century found much of the free world in fear of those who chose to do harm to any who did not agree with their way of thinking. Soviet Russia was the biggest threat at the time and we used spies to investigate what they were up to constantly. They, in turn, also had their spies who kept a close eye on the U.S. and the United Kingdom. Based on a classic novel with the same title, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy tells a tale of intrigue and quiet desperation that depicts the spy among us who went about their business without fear for their own lives. Men like George Smiley (Gary Oldman from The Dark Knight, Air Force One), who comes out of retirement to find a "mole" who has infiltrated the Secret Intelligence Service and is a threat to all things right in the world. What ensues makes for an excellent story and even though slow in parts, is well worth viewing.

"Lizzie" is a film released in 2018 that tells a fictionalized account of the infamous Lizzie Borden case. Directed by Craig William Macneill, the movie is a psychological thriller based on the events surrounding the murder of Lizzie's father and stepmother in 1892. The story explores the strained relationship between Lizzie and her strict, controlling father, as well as the influence of the family's maid, Bridget Sullivan.

Congratulations to all of those who liked Public Enemy with Johnny Depp, now they have more hard-boiled action thriller, Gangster Squad, unfortunately without Johnny. However the absence of Depp is easily compensated by a magnificent assembly of the cast, flawlessly selected by Ruben Fleischer who previously directed Zombieland and working on Zombieland 2 at the day of The Gangster Squad release. Returning to the abovementioned cast, the set of starring actors is really staggering: Ryan Gosling is portraying the main protagonist Sgt. Jerry Wooters who is serving in small (but very secret) LAPD squad chasing the major villain, Mickey Cohen, a mob ringleader. Cohen rules everything to the west from Chicago: prostitution, drug dealing, contract murders and bribes to politicians and officials. He controls everything and everyone. Sean Penn has professionally played the role of this uber-gangtser. Not worse managed with their roles gorgeous Emma Stone (as Grace Faraday) and Josh Brolin (as John O'Mara). The rest array of celebs involved in the film includes: Giovanni Ribisi (Ted, Contraband), Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z), Michael PeГ±a (Chavez, End of Watch), Nick Nolte (Luck, Warrior), Anthony Mackie (Vipaka, Real Steel) and Robert Patrick (Mafia, Safe House).

Sin City is a 2005 American neo-noir crime anthology film directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez. The movie is based on Miller's graphic novel series of the same name and features a series of interconnected stories set in the fictional city of Basin City. The film explores themes of crime, corruption, and revenge, and features an ensemble cast of characters, each with their own dark and twisted story.
