Red Riding Hood

Description

The original fairy tale story titled Little Red Riding Hood was a cautionary tale filled with darkness and scary wolves but seemed mild compared to this up-dated version. Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and with a stellar cast including: Amanda Seyfried (Big Love, Mama Mia), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight, Planet 51), Julie Christie (Glorious 39, Finding Neverland) and Billy Burke (Twilight, Fringe). Valerie is our Red Riding Hood who lives in a medieval village where a werewolf stalks its prey. She falls in love with a woodcutter who is beneath her as far as her parents are concerned. They had planned on her marrying into wealth and comfort with Henry (Max Irons) but she defies them. "When Valerie's sister is killed by the werewolf the town asks a famous "werewolf hunter" (Oldman) in to destroy the monster they've feared for decades. How can this beast be found when it takes on human form in daylight and could be among them at any time? Now the death toll will rise with each passing full moon."

The Rabbit Hole movie's pivotal event, the gut-wrenching and heart-numbing tragedy that sends Becca and Howie Cotbett down the rabbit hole, is over and done before the movie begins: Their four-year-old son has run out into the street, been hit by a teen-age driver, and died. Rabbit Hole movie deals with the more complicated, considerably more disturbing question, "Then what?" Adapted from a Pulitzer Prize winning play that enjoyed a long and distinguished run on Broadway, Rabbit Hole literally "speaks to" grown-up audiences willing to listen to the nuances in the dialogue—the language of psychotherapy laced with bitter sarcasm and fierce rage."Nicole Kidman does not merely star in Rabbit Hole movie; she makes it her personal tour de force, playing Becca with all the brittle delicacy of Wedgewood china and all the fevered intensity of a serial killer. The marquee proclaims Aaron Eckhart also stars, but he really is the fern and baby's breath to Kidman's flourishing rose bouquet. Howie cheats on his wife, and Becca stalks their baby's killer, and somehow they convince themselves and the audience that really they are just a couple of struggling suburbanites "trying to find their way back to a life that still holds the potential for beauty, laughter and happiness." Rabbit Hole movie director John Cameron Mitchell drains away the film's melodrama and pathos by rendering it in "drab, functional, TV-movie naturalism," making it beguiling and terrifying. Through Mitchell's lens, the horrific events and overwhelming emotions seem exceptionally familiar and perfectly ordinary. Rabbit Hole terrifies everyday Cineplex audiences, forcing them to recognize just how easily they might become Becca and Howie.

Drama
The dramatic storyline of "People Like Us" tells us about unfortunate broke salesman who is suddenly faced the bad news about his father and the necessity to deliver 150 grands to his sister he has never knew. He feels self-confident enough to convince her to let him left the money for himself, but very soon he realizes the futility of his life when he meets lonesome mother struggling for more significant needs than he could even imagine. The film was directed by Alex Kurtzman, who is better known as producer of action-packed movies like Star Trek and Cowboys & Aliens. People Like Us is his debut as director, and it's essential that this movie is a low budgeted one. However, it does not mean that something is wrong with this film. Awesome directional skills of Kurtzman multiplied on perfect assembly of cast and heart-touching screenplay (co-written by Alex too) resulted in must-see masterpiece equally standing among his other works as producer like Transformers Prime, Exit Strategy, Exit Strategy, Hawaii Five-0, Fringe. But, let's go back to the cast: beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer (Dark Shadows, Stardust) as Lillian is accompanied by Elizabeth Banks and charming Olivia Wilde (In Time, Tron: Legacy) as Hanna. The "downshifting" salesman is portrayed by Chris Pine, who is well known for his roles in latest Star Treks and very funny dramcom This Means War.

But in one unfortunate moment his life suddenly changes when Charles' girlfriend Ivana, breaks with him unexpectedly. Since that moment Charles life begins to slide by a tailspin-shaped curve. The movie's action takes place in the midst of 70s' when life was still full of "sex-drug-and-rock-and-roll things: which causes an ultimate influence on the filming style of A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III. The movie is directed by Roman Coppola who has given us CQ. So, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say the film is almost a directorial debut Roman Coppola as for big-screen movie. Nevertheless we shall pay a tribute to his actors' selection – the ensemble cast is splendid and full of chemistry between the characters. As we said before Charles is played by a top-ranked American comedian Charlie Sheen (a star of Two and a Half Men, She Wants Me, Due Date and Scary Movie franchise). His girlfriend Ivana is played by a gorgeous Katheryn Winnick (a star of Vikings, Stand Up Guys and Nikita). Charles friend Kirby is played by Jason Schwartzman (Saving Mr. Banks, Moonrise Kingdom, Bored to Death), while Saul is played by Bill Murray (Hyde Park on Hudson, Passion Play, Lost in Translation).
