It was directed and by written by Danny Boyle in association with Simon Beaufoy. 127 hours is completely based on the real story of Aron Ralston, a professional mountain climber who was cached in a trap by a massive rock drop. To rescue himself he amputated one of his arms after a five days surviving in hostile conditions. The movie follows the same story. In 2003, Aron Ralston (James Franco) was climbing in a remote canyon in Utah (United States) and a rock caught his arm. Only his accident strangers Megan (Amber Tamblyn) and Christie (Kate Mara) know where you can be, since met him minutes before. Equipped, with the video camera and a pocket knife only, Ralston seems to have the hours counted his life. His right forearm was pinned under a large stone block and was there for almost five days, until realized that the place where it was not rescued. Then he decided to cut his right forearm with a small knife. Then he wrapped his stump and climbed a hill to find a family who was so close, but knowing nothing about his drama…

Actually the film as translated from a Douglas Kennedy book of the same title works exceedingly well. The Woman in the Fifth stars Ethan Hawke (Brooklyn's Finest, Daybreakers) as the writer Tom Ricks. Ricks moved to Paris to be near his daughter but falls into hard times and needs work to get him by the writer's block he developed. Soon he becomes enraptured by a French beauty by the name of Margit and his life becomes a bit more interesting.o-starring Kristin Scott Thomas (Sarah's Key, The Other Boleyn Girl) as Margit, Joanna Kulig (Time of Honor, Janosik: A True Story) as Ania, Geoffrey Carey (Glenn The Flying Robot, The Actress' Ball) as Laurent, and Delphine Chuillot (Mozart's Sister, Silent Voice) as Nathalie. When Ricks life is turned upside down in Paris, he is helped by a French Arab fellow who gives him a job as a security agent although his passion is writing and making amends with his daughter and estranged wife. Apparently this story's writer, Douglas Kennedy is out to prove it's always darkest before the storm, at least in Paris.

When Jimmy, a 45 year old "roadie" who has been with the Blue Oyster Cult, an 80's hair band is cast off by the band, he returns to his home town and to see his mother. Jimmy has not seen his mother since he was back to attend his father's funeral. Now he hopes to live with his mother in the very house and neighborhood he grew up in. But much has changed while he's been away, especially the neighborhood (Forest Hills, Queens in New York) which is now considered somewhat of a slum. It's difficult and sometimes even impossible to go back home again and Jimmy finds his old stomping grounds have gone to seed while he was away for all those years when old buddies take him on a tour.immy testagross is played by Ron Eldard (House of Sand and Fog, ER), Bobby Cannavale (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Fast Food Nation) is Bobby, Nikki Stevens is played by Jill Hennessey (Crossing Jordan, Wild Hogs), Jimmy's Mom is played by Lois Smith (True Blood, Desperate Housewives), and Don Miller is portrayed by David Margulies (The Sopranos, Canterbury's Law).
