"The Witch" is a 2015 horror film that tells the story of a Puritan family in 1630s New England who are banished from their community and forced to live on the edge of a dark and foreboding forest. As they try to build a new life, strange occurrences begin to happen, including the disappearance of their infant son and the family's descent into paranoia and religious hysteria. The film explores themes of religious fanaticism, the fear of the unknown, and the breakdown of family relationships.

Seems there are supernatural events happening that take on a science fiction/reality type face that puts fear into each and every one who spends that weekend there in the Cabin in the Woods. One thing those involved agreed upon was they did not want to simply remake a great spooky classic like 1982's The Thing by John Carpenter or even its predecessor The Thing From Another World from 1951. We don't need to remake classics like Jaws or The Exorcist and The Thing is another that is better off leaving intact as it was so perfectly done initially. But this is more a prequel and as such does not step on the original. This story involves the same characters but with a somewhat different timeline and plot because these are the same ones already dead when the original movie began. Now we learn their side of the rather spooky story about the wolf like apparition that consumes its prey then assumes their identity completely.tarring Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live Free or Die Hard, Make it Happen) as Kate Lloyd, a paleontologist who joins up with the Norwegian team of scientists who happened to stumble upon an extraterrestrial space ship that's crash landed in Antarctica. The pilot, Carter, who is played by Joel Edgerton from Separation City, Smokin' Aces teams with the crew to stop the alien creature that assumes the form of anything it eats and then becomes them to fool humans and take over. This is what "could have happened" if the 1982 version took another path and one of the best non-remakes to come along in a while.

Remember Jaws? Everyone saw it summer of 1975. Recall Jaws 3D? Didn't think so. Today however the 3D concept is alive and well thanks to new techniques (and better glasses). Shark Night takes a group of college friends away to spend the weekend at a Louisiana lake house set just off the Gulf. The guys and gals set out to have a memorable weekend and don't yet realize just how memorable this will turn out to be. Sharks don't reside in fresh water lakes, or do they? he group dons their bathing suits and dive in but the day turns dark and dangerous when Malik, a football star comes out of the water missing an arm! They must get him to a hospital and set off in a little speed boat but become victims to what apparently involves a sick game played by local residents.ara Paxton (Wizards of Waverly Place) is Sara, Sinqua Walls (Friday Night Lights) is the unfortunate Malik, and Chris Carmack (Drop Dead Diva) as Dennis top an up and coming cast in this horror thriller: Shark Night 3D.

You might remember the first of The Last Exorcism and its cam-shaking found-footage style. Thanks god, The Last Exorcism Part 2 is made in normal way without boring "real-footage" effects. Like in th previous one, Ashley Bell stars in this movie too as Nell Sweetzer, a terrified girl found lurking in the woods and latter rehabilitating after the previous exorcism which turns out be just an act of clearing the way for greater evil eager to settle in Nell's tiny body. Further, unlike the first movie directed by Daniel Stamm (The Darkness, Angry Little God, A Necessary Death), the second "Last Exorcism" is directed by the less known Ed Gass-Donnelly (Small Town Murder Songs, This Beautiful City) which may lead to some underestimating of the horrifying power of this movie, but watching the trailer will left you reassured. The filming is great, the horror scenes are powerful, and the evil is realistic. Thanks to the writer Damien Chazelle (Grand Piano, Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench) the movie plot looks solid and scenario twists are plausible.

For those conspiracy theorists and urban legend enthusiasts perplexed by the question, "Why has the United States never returned to the moon?" Apollo 18 now offers a frighteningly realistic lost-footage answer. [insert dramatic, suspenseful movie music here]."According to "official" space history, moon missions ended with Apollo 17; and, although an eighteenth mission was scheduled, NASA maintains it scrubbed the launch. Apollo 18 alleges the mission actually went off as planned, and the crew of the ill-fated moon-landing encountered alien life among the craters. Supposedly, investigators recently stumbled upon never-before-released NASA video proving the existence of alien life. Shot by the moonwalkers, the "secret" video documents their encounter with the aliens, and you safely may assume the two parties did not exchange recipes for fish tacos. The very well-crafted trailer for Apollo 18 ostensibly shows you the "lost" footage."Produced by Timur Bekmambetov and directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego, Apollo 18 is frequently reminiscent of Ridley Scott's original Alien, but in a good, allusive way, building suspense and genuine terror from intense realism. The voice-over for the trailer says ominously, "What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it's the real reason we've never gone back to the moon."When you have seen the footage, you too may become a conspiracy theorist or fan of urban legends."
