Secretariat is a Walt Disney studio production movie released in 2010 and loosely based on real story of Penny Chenery (Diane Lane), a modest housewife who has a fate to become the first woman to win the Triple Crown and take a reputable place in the man-ruled world of horse races. Since her father becomes seriously ill Penny has to run his horse stables balancing on a bankruptcy edge. But very quickly she became interested in the world of horse racing and got into it, without any dreams about great professional success, but soon the fortune grants her the gift, a horse named Secretariat with outstanding racing talents matching the veteran horse trainer Lucien Laurin (John Malkovich)…and the undreamed success comes true.

"The Wrestler" is a 2008 drama film directed by Darren Aronofsky. Battle of the Year: The Dream Team is American movie inspired by real life break-dance championship, a tournament like Olympic games for dancers is held every year in France. And most interesting fact is that Americans, who were standing at the origins of the break-dance haven't won Battle of the Year for fifteen years (what a shame!). This situation is to be changed by former b-boy Dante (Laz Alonso - Charlie DuChamp from Breakout Kings) who hires a basketball coach, Derrek, to make a team from a gang of unorganized teen-dancers. Derrek (played by Josh Holloway: Five, Stay Cool, Whisper) initially refuses the deal claiming that he is just former basketball coach, but finally accepts Dante proposition. As we see, Dante was right, a good coaching gives more than specialization. As it turns out B-boys were in need of discipline and raising the morale. The main competitors, Koreans have won lots of Battles of the Year before - their dancing potential and, what is more important, both the spirit and the will to win seem to be unbeatable. However, Derek's tactic to train boys like real men is paying off. His b-boys turn into a powerful dancing forces crew, a serious menace for the rest of the teams on Battle of the Year dance-ground.

Chasing Mavericks is an inspirational movie based on the true story about the life and achievements of an icon of world surfing, Jay Moriarty, who died in 2001 at age of 21, and imprinted himself in the memory in generations as the best of the best soul surfers. Directed by talented Curtis Hanson and Michael Apted, the movie stars Gerard Butler as Frosty Hesson, a Moriarty mentor and Jonny Weston as Jay himself. Gerard Butler name may sound familiar to you as he played King Leonidas in Zack Snyder's "300". Jonny Weston is known for his roles as Jack in Adam Christian Clark's Caroline and Jackie. Two friends unite in their quest of the life to conquer the Mavericks, most violent and highest tidal waves of North California. The waves which claimed lots of lives of legendary surfers such as Mark Foo. The film so colorfully depicts surfing Mavericks in Half Moon Bay, California, that even people who never ever tried surfing become infected by the idea to ride the wave someday. Although the real Jay Moriarty did not die in the waves (actually he drowned while practicing breath holding and meditating deep in the waters of Indian Ocean with a group of Brazilian divers), surfing on the waves of such a height could be very dangerous even for professional surfers. It's notable that Gerard Butler was heavy injured during the filming Chasing Mavericks, being submerged under two giant waves and subsequently hit by several others more while swimming towards the shore. He was taken to hospital, but his traumas have dramatically affected the filming of the movie as well as his personal life, leading him to rehab after he has developed a dependence on pain medication.

Whip Out! can be considered as the peak of thirty-year Barrymore's career: she finally got to the director's chair. Drew's debut is based on the memoirs of famous Los Angeles roller, who is was at war with parents who do not understand her fascination. And you will agree with them, while watching this movie. Shown in the best traditions of female colonies, broad-shouldered girls in short skirts are rolling in a circle at tremendous speed, giving kicks with heavy rollers, casting opponents of the playground. Fragile Ellen Page as a young skater-prodigy, causes an acute attack of sympathy, although her colleagues treat her delicately as far as possible.
