In the year of 1939, the King and Queen of United Kingdom, George VI and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon are visiting New York to seek the help from America in a forthcoming War with Germany. The success of their voyage is totally dependent on negotiation with the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt who has invited the Royals to his residence - Hyde Park on Hudson. Meanwhile, FDR himself is experiencing hard times with domestic policy and low ratings of trust. The situation is even getting worse when Margaret Suckley, a Roosevelt's mistress and distant cousin joins him alongside with his wife and children to ensure the pleasant stay of royal couple during the weekend. This crucial parley is going to turn out to be the fateful pivot point both of the world history and FDR and Margaret relationships. Few people know ins and outs of this historical meeting and Roger Michell's movie, Hyde Park on Hudson, unfolds the truth about it. It showcases lots of funny moments (just imagine facial expression of Royals, when Margaret announces hot dogs as main dish of the lunch), misapprehensions at the edge of fouls and lots of other objectionable situations FDR and Margaret masterly get out from. The right chemistry between the perfectly selected actors and actress make this movie definitely delicious and easy to watch. Franklin D. Roosevelt is portrayed by Bill Murray. Laura Linney plays Margaret Suckley while Olivia Williams plays Eleanor Roosevelt, FRD's wife. The Royal couple is played by Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth and Samuel West as King George VI.

A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III stars Charlie Sheen as Charles Swan III a graphic designer who is popular among the ladies, successful in professional life and generally a lucky man. But in one unfortunate moment his life suddenly changes when Charles' girlfriend Ivana, breaks with him unexpectedly. Since that moment Charles life begins to slide by a tailspin-shaped curve. His manager Saul and best friend Kirby both try to help Charles but ineffectually. The movie's action takes place in the midst of 70s' when life was still full of "sex-drug-and-rock-and-roll things: which causes an ultimate influence on the filming style of A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III. The movie is directed by Roman Coppola who has given us CQ. So, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say the film is almost a directorial debut Roman Coppola as for big-screen movie. Nevertheless we shall pay a tribute to his actors' selection – the ensemble cast is splendid and full of chemistry between the characters. As we said before Charles is played by a top-ranked American comedian Charlie Sheen (a star of Two and a Half Men, She Wants Me, Due Date and Scary Movie franchise). His girlfriend Ivana is played by a gorgeous Katheryn Winnick (a star of Vikings, Stand Up Guys and Nikita). After the twenty years Barnabas becomes reach and famous in the small city of Collinsport and the master of Collinwood Manor. Acting like some sort of local Casanova he breaks the heart of one witch, Angelique Bouchard. There were two issues with this case: the first, she was the real witch and, and the second, it was a fatal mistake of Barnabas. Her reaction was lightning fast and literally inescapable: she turns him in the vampire and buries him for greater certainty. But after 200 years due to some accident he frees from the grave and tries to return to a normal life. But a normal life does not exist in 1972, anymore. Barnabas realizes it after visiting the ruins of former Collinwood Manor, now occupied by his dysfunctional descendants. There the story of Dark Shadows begins.
