Written and filmed from the Russians perspective, The Darkest Hour is about aliens invading Russia instead of the U.S. as we usually see. And when aliens attack nowadays they hit the electronics first thing because they seem to realize that is our weakest link and the most vital element of life here on earth. liens conquer earth swiftly and totally by frying the electronic grid, then hunting down the pathetic and disorganized survivors who scurry like rats from the destruction and mayhem. Russians and five young American tourists band together in hopes of finding a way to overpower the alien forces and survive. cooperative effort, The Darkest Hour's director Chris Gorak (Right at your Door) and combined cast including Joel Kinnaman (TV series The Killing, Easy Money), Emile Hirsch (Taking Woodstock, Speed Racer), and Rachael Taylor (TV series Grey's Anatomy, Summer Coda). Producer Timur Bekmambetov was determined to make this sci-fi horror film centered in Russia rather than an international incident or one that was, as usual, occurring in the U.S. only. It works well with the 3D aspect.

Simon Beaufoy and Michael Arndt have adopted the book for filming and written the screenplay for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The movie's story is revolving around "Victor's Tour" of the 74th Annual Hunger Games winners Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Now they are heroes adored by all the people and the Capitol is betting on them to calm down incipient rebellion. Katness and Peeta finds themselves drawn in series of intrigues all meaning death for them in grand finale. The brilliant play of Jennifer Lawrence, who may be familiar for you by her recent roles in House at the End of the Street and Playbook, undoubtedly has "make" the movie. For Josh Hutcherson, The Hunger Games mean great breakthrough in his career although he has shown the best of his actor's skill in Red Dawn and The Forger.

Cypher Raige is a recognized hero of many wars, a legendary general who heads his spacecraft to the distant realms, convoying recently captured fierce alien creature. He travels with his son, Kitai Raige, inexperienced 13-years-old boy who gets his initial knowledge about space voyages. Unfortunately, a technical malfunction triggers a chain of events that lead to emergency landing on hostile planet. The only hope for deathly injured father and his son is to find and activate SOS beacon before Cypher Raige dies. Bad news: their radars indicate that the beacon is located on the other side of the planet and ocean of impassable jungles infested with bloodthirsty animals and furious alien that escaped the spaceship during the crash are the only obstacle between 13-years old Kitai and the hope to save their lives. Seriously wounded Cypher can't move, but he tries to help his son to overcome the fear by couching him distantly. The only thing is left at his disposal is to convince Kitai, that in contradistinction to dreadful monsters his fear is not real. That means that Kitai has to forget the fear and concentrate on the real dangers: ravenous creatures and virulent environment of the hostile planet. By the way it's Earth. Yes, it's our home planet that was abandoned by humans almost 1000 years ago due to the catastrophic event that wiped out majority of the species. Since that time new kinds of giant animal took the place of extincted ones and now they dominate the Earth. It's strange and suspicious that we know so much about the movie's story, taking in consideration that After Earth was directed by M. Night Shyamalan, so you have to expect some unpredictable plot twists. Another fact to enjoy is the ensemble cast: there are two leading characters - the father and the son, and they are the real father and son Will and Jaden Smith. Yes, this is the Will Smith (Men in Black franchise, Wild Wild West and I, Legend) and his son Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid, The Day the Earth Stood Still).

Resident Evil: Afterlife is the fourth film in the "Resident Evil" franchise. As the previous three movies it was produced by Paul Anderson, who also directed the very first of them: "The Resident Evil". The movie follows Ellis and his group of clones attacking the headquarter of the "Umbrella" corporation, located in a secure underground bunker beneath the streets of Tokyo. They kill all the staff and the security of the complex, but miss Albert Wesker, the chairman of the corporation who escapes and activates system of self-destruction of the underground headquarter in his attempt to destroy all clones of Alice. But real Alice pursues Wesker and tries to kill him in the aircraft. Wesker injects her a drug that neutralizes the T-virus, making Alice a normal person aircraft. Meanwhile aircraft crashes near Tokyo and Alice miraculously survives the fall, but does not detect Wesker…
