One night, while branching, they are attacked by a Tasmanian devil and then captured by two owls who work for the evil Metalbeak (Joel Edgerton) and his partner Nyra (Helen Mirren). Still caught in the clutches of the owls, they soon found a huge group of Metalbeak workers with other young owls in their clutches, Soren recognizes the Elf Owl Gylfi (Emily Barclay) who lived in the desert. They are taken to the St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls, and Nyra arrives and makes a speech to the kidnapped owls, explaining that their families have abandoned them and that Metalbeak of "Pure" is their new family…

"Rio 2" is an animated movie that continues the story of Blu, a blue macaw bird who travels to Rio de Janeiro and falls in love with another bird named Jewel. The sequel sees the couple having kids and going on a trip to the Amazon, where they find a group of birds that they thought were extinct.
