American Fiction

American Fiction is a 2023 satirical drama film written and directed by Cord Jefferson, adapted from Percival Everett's 2001 novel Erasure. The film stars Jeffrey Wright as Thelonious Monk Ellison, a critically respected but commercially overlooked Black novelist who is fed up with the publishing industry's appetite for what it considers authentic Black trauma narratives.
