Watch MTV and the iTunes for episodes of the new hit show Geordie Shore and you will see similarities to the popular Jersey Shore. For one thing the show has its own group of "party hard" individuals who live together in an upscale house, share bedrooms, and each as their own reasons to be there. The Geordie Shore show is a British based program coming from the UK and having decidedly British points of view. The filming of Geordie Shore has been stated to be bordering pornographic due to bare breasts, six packs, fights, and simulated fellatio. Each of these vain individuals have their own reasons to submit to "reality" television. Holly states she is the most realistic "fake" person there is and her size double F chest (paid for by her mom) is a testament to that. Then there is Jay who loves himself too much to get involved with a female on the Geordie Shore show. His idea of a relationship is about him and his workouts at the gym. James, who is only 20, must check himself out each time he passes a mirror. Sophie likes to flash her "boobs" while dancing on table tops. Quite an interesting group!
Professional decorator Jeff Lewis and his assistants are in the house "flipping" business. That is they buy them up cheaply and sell for a profit. Along the way there are always complications involved with refurbishing houses that have been neglected or even abandoned, thanks especially to the real estate crash in recent years. The stressful environment of flipping houses makes Lewis decide to concentrate more on home design and his consulting business as a means of income. We, the viewing audience, follow him and his helpers along as they work out the details and improve on each home they take on as a project now based in the Los Angeles, California area. Among the homes Jeff Lewis takes on as home improvement projects are some worth well over a million dollars so this is no small time business. Jenni Pulos, Ryan Brown, Chris Elwood, and Chris Keslar are part of his crew and prove to be dedicated workers who Lewis finds he can't do without. The program makes for some interesting and inspiring viewing that makes many of us want to head for the Home Depot and begin our own restoration in our own homes.
Cooking shows are hot on television now days, creating serious competition among the celebrity cooks as well as prospective winners in various formats on TV. MasterChef features the likes of Gordon Ramsay (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares) along side Joe Bastianich (restaurateur/vineyard owner), and Graham Elliot (chef/restaurant owner) as judges who oversee the contestants who come from a wide assortment of occupations including housewives, doctors, lawyers, private chefs, realtors, and travel writers. From what appears to be a huge crowd in the initial tryouts they whittle the prospects down to 100, then down to 38 or so and put them all to the test. With each contestant offering their "signature" dish to the judges, the competition begins and so does elimination, one by one. It is amazingly difficult to please all three judges as they are diverse in their likes and taste preferences, and the pressure is on to perform and show they have a talent for cooking. The coveted crown of MasterChef will be given to whomever can best please the judges and keep their head about them in the heat of the kitchen.
Audrina Cathleen Patridge has become a reality TV show star, highlighting an exciting career that began when she moved to Los Angeles and went to work as a receptionist for Quixote Studios back in 2005. Her swift rise to fame was helped along the way by roles in movies like Sorority Row and Into the Blue: The Reef. Another American reality based show on the TV? Well why not as they are all cash cows for the networks that produce them. Co-starring with Paris is Brooke Mueller former wife of Charlie Sheen (and mother to their twin boys Bob and Max). The concept here is somewhat based on how difficult it can be to be famous. Constantly hounded by the paparazzi who follow her every movement, Paris Hilton must find ways to avoid them when ever possible. Paris Hilton has been successful in her primary role in life; that being as a wealthy socialite who does not need to do anything unless she wants to. Her reality show has been compared with "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" as being light yet intriguing fluff that some find amusing. The TV program takes us along as Paris and Brooke travel to Las Vegas, Spain, or Cabo for some drama and or romance.
