Long Story Short is a Netflix adult animated comedy-drama created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, his first new animated series since the acclaimed BoJack Horseman. Trading Hollywood satire for something more intimate, the show is a warm, melancholy, and very funny portrait of a single family told across the sweep of its members' entire lives.
The series follows the Schwooper family, jumping freely and non-chronologically through the decades, from childhood and adolescence to marriage, parenthood, and old age, so that a character might be a squabbling kid in one scene and a weary adult in the next. This restless time-hopping structure lets the show explore how families carry their history with them, how old wounds and inside jokes echo across generations, and how small moments accumulate into a life. A talented actor Breckin Erin Meyer (Geezers!, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Stag Night) now appears as the author of Men at Work, the TBS comedy series about unfortunate guy Milo, which has had suffered the rupture of relations with his girlfriend. He is trying to start reenter the "Big Sex Scene" with the help of his three friends Gibbs, Tyler and Neal which are working with him in the same magazine. While four friends endeavor to unleash the stratagems of love, sex and friendship issues they find themselves in various comic situations. Men at Work stars Danny Masterson who may be familiar to you as Rooney in Yes Man. He also plays in The Chicago 8 and California Solo. His friends are portrayed by James Lesure, Michael Cassidy and Adam Busch. Sex jokes, funny dialogs, easy to watch actors' play are all the things that Men at Work has in excess.
When it comes to work Travis and Wes are the best cops you've ever seen in the real life. But their relationship with each other looks like a nightmare. The chemistry between two actors adds more spiciness to overall TV show's performance. Travis Marks is portrayed by Michael Ealy who played in Think Like a Man as Dominic and Detective Sebastian in vampire-themed movie Underworld: Awakening. You've probably noticed him in Californication series as Ben. Another cop, Wes Mitchell, is Warren Kole, a quite demanded actor in Hollywood television series industry. His portfolio includes: The Chicago Code, Rizzoli & Isles, Mental (as Rylan Moore) and 24 (Brian Gedge). He also has been seen as Carrier BridgeTechs in action-packed movie The Avengers. Another noticeable person in Common Law is Captain Mike Sutton played by Jack McGee who was acting in Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad which was filmed at the same time. Before Common Law, Jack McGee also remarkably played in numerous TV shows and movies like Rescue Me, Brotherhood, Criminal Minds, Players, New Year's Eve, etc. Dr. Elise Ryan (who is trying to help Travis and Wes find a peace with each other) is portrayed by Sonya Walger, cute Hollywood TV series superstar with a long listed filmography: FlashForward, In Treatment, Lost and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Inspired by Sex and the City, Girls are the remarkable product of HBO's 2011-2012 season. Written and directed by Lena Dunham, a Tiny Furniture's Aura, this TV series showcases a "sex and life" everyday situations of four twenty-something girls. A recently financially cut of her parents Hannah, played by Lena Dunham - how do you like writer / director / actress "“ all in one person?. Her best friend Marnie, played by Allison Williams, who's may be familiar to you as Deborah from American Dreams. Shoshanna is another friend of Hanna, portrayed by Zosia Mamet, a Kelsey in Parenthood. And Jessa, played by the real-life friend of Lena Dunham, funny Jemima Kirke, a Charlotte from Tiny Furniture. It's remarkable that all of the actress are daughters of big names in entertainment industry. Jemima Kirke is a daughter of Simon Kirke, you may know this drummer from Bad Company band. Zosia Mamet is a daughter of the Oscar nominee, screenwriter David Alan Mamet. Allison Williams' father is the famous NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. As for reception of this series, many critics define it as promising but not genre-revolutionizing, although some of the awkward sex scenes that are showcased in Girls is not usual for this type of series. Despite of glossy Sex and the City, many moments in Girls unfold the true relationships between the youngsters.
A pair of young women make for "strange bedfellows" when they finally become friends of sort after one's attempts to scam the other fail. June Colbern moves to New York only to find her dream job falls apart when the mortgage company she went to work for suddenly falls apart as the company goes under due to ripping off schemes. After losing her apartment she moves in with Chloe who June discovers is a con artist. They do become friends however and Apartment 23 becomes a place of interest to other local residents like Robin, a neighbor obsessed with Chloe, Eli who lives next door and spies on the women. Chloe has one good friend in James Van Der Beek (played by James Van Der Beek) on whom she can rely. Starring as Chloe is Krysten Ritter from Veronica Mars & Gilmore Girls, Dreama Walker from Gossip Girl & The Good Wife is June Colbern, Robin is played by Liza Lapira from Fast & Furious and Crazy, Stupid, Love. James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek, Mercy) plays a fictionalized version of himself. Fun series with plenty of New York scenery.

Alex's husband was imprisoned for insider trading struggles to keep her life on track and raise her daughter Charlie Meyers (Joey King from Ghost Whisperer, Crazy, Stupid Love) is a typical 8 year old who is wise way beyond her years. Contractor Pete's father is played by Jeffrey Tambor from Arrested Development, The Hangover, a want to be musician who livens up things mostly because he is such a funny guy! With plenty of great comedy writing and people to deliver it well this show will keep audiences laughing for a long time!
